Google showed the thread and Shroomery as usual but when I clicked on it Google came up with a warning that it was a malicious site and I had a hell of a job getting here.
Someone must have reported the site to Google. I know Graham Hancock had the same issue with his site once. Big Brother perhaps?
I have this thread on my favourites list for quick access. Today at uni I tried to to access it but got the same message as you, I thought my uni had blocked the website..guess not.

Awesome to see the 2012 thread up, I havent even posted here since the 2010 or maybe even 2009 season. I'll defs be contributing this year. Heres a couple pics of some of last years finds i never shared here:
Psilocybe subaeruginosa
As you can see they're very dry and dehydrated, as they were found really late last year. (maybe the stress contributed to the intense blueing?)
Also non-psilocybin so doesn't really belong here, but its so awesome I thought I'd post it. It's called Entoloma hochstetteri, and it's very distinctive with its sky blue colour all over. Edibility and toxicity apparently unknown. Very interesting mushroom:
Good luck to all Kiwis this season, I'll be back with more soon!

Good to see you again Blazer. Yes, definitely expecting some good things this season. Have been scoping out some newly discovered woodchip areas. I sense the dehydrator will be getting a thrashing this year.

How is that color even possible in nature?! That is one of the most beautiful mushrooms I've ever seen, thank you for sharing.

Induct,
Amazing pictures!
I'm new to all this and out there searching, searching, searching in Lower North Island. I note from your pics that Subs appear smaller than I'm expecting based on the $2 coin. My eyes are not trained to be looking at that size yet (till now!)
What are the 'average' 'normal' sorts of sizes of subs please? - anyone??

Softball to beachball-sized. Source. It took me longer to respond here than it does to just type into your favorite search engine "psilocybe subaeruginosa" or even just "subaeruginosa".

Sorry for size of pics.
Found (when not looking - lucky!) April, 2012, West-harbour, Otago, NZ.
10 large mature subs in total.
Hoping enough for 2 of us?
Have been searching all over but haven't found any in hours upon hours of hunting. Have found 2 small spots now by accident though...

Wow - they are a light colour! Well done!
Came across hundreds and hundreds of SIMILAR looking things today in pine forest, but mine are not subbs - they don't blue. I think it's still too warm in Welly region.
Dry them and weigh them - My Waereroa weighed 3/100th's gm when dried so I will keep it as a momento only. Frustrating.......

Hey NZ thread! Here are some Weraroas me and a friend found in Wellington today growing in native bush, all but one were found in the same location.
Here are the ones we thought were questionable:
3 looks like It's had a bite taken out of it, 2, 7 and 8 look quite pale and old, 1 and 6 look pretty weird and 5 is brittle and dry.
I'd be interested to know which ones people think might be ok to eat. I read somewhere that weraroas might be more potent earlier in the season, does anyone know if this is true? Also what level of trip would my friend and I get if we halved what we have here?
Answer whatever questions you can if you want to Weraroas seem to be quite mysterious, noone I've talked knows much about them
Thanks

5 full grown mushrooms each, sounds good for a level 2-3 trip? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If this should be somewhere else, I apologise in advance....
My excited hopeful eyes are saying Semilanceata, but I think not.
Attached were obtained from
- fertilized dairy pasture, in last 24 hours, - Lower North Island - very damp cool grass, with lots of old cow dung in pasture - approx 200 feet above sea level (semilanceata are usually in sub alpine areas in Lower South Island.... apparently...) - heavy rain 3/4 days ago
I need to stop using flash in photos as colours are deeper than appear in photos. Stems are quite a yellow colour.
Mr Spore Print is working as I type, so that will tell me something.
In the past, I have seen Panaeolus Foenisecii and Cinctulus in same pasture (unfortunately in those days I didn't know what they represented) There were none of those there today, so I'm assuming they like warmer weather.
Mycena? Psathyrella?
Any ideas?

They're not P.semilanceata. They're a Mycena sp. Should have a White spore deposit.
