My period is late

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
Took a test, was negative. That was when I was one day late. Now it's five days late. I'm trying to not stress but there was a slight malfunction with a condom this month. I mostly just want to run around screaming FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
My period is always predictable, for a very long time now. I haven't had an abnormal period in forever so either this is a bastard period or the fucking worst has happened.
I don't even have any of my normal PMS symptoms. That's what freaking me out.

Take a test! My GF has this happen occasionally, maybe 2-3 times out of every year or two. She's even on birth control, which is supposed to make it more regular, and there's inevitably a 'scary' month or two. The only way to ease your anxiety is to know for sure.

They say to wait a week before taking another test so I'll wait a couple more days. I don't have a lot of $$ to spend on pregnancy tests atm. Cheaper than a baby though.

Save your money for that abortion. I hope for your sake you don't have any archaic moral qualms about that.

Dollar stores carry pregnancy tests. Generic tests can be very cheap. Pregnancy tests are so accurate you can show up pregnant 3 days after on a the tests.
Stress can cause you to skip a period. Crappy diet. Lack of water. Moving in with other chicks (this will throw off your cycle and actually cause your cycle and the females around you to start cycling together) or hanging around other chicks a LOT.
Lots of factors. Don't jump the gun.

Do you live in a state with an accessible planned parenthood? If you legitimately can't afford pregnancy tests, they may be able to help.
Like the poster before me said, there are a lot of factors that can change your cycle and the stress of thinking you're knocked up certainly doesn't help. Breath and wait or get a better pregnancy test.
If this was a false alarm, I really suggest getting some kind of birth control. If you're not good at taking the pill on time, there are other options. I am super paranoid, I can't imagine not taking birth control even if condoms are still being used. I also suggest getting Plan B to keep as a back up. Pricing and availability varies by state but it's worth finding out. PP usually offers free or discounted PlanB to their patients. Next time there's any malfunction, don't roll the dice.
Good luck to you, I hope it all works.

I plan on getting an IUD asap, it's been on my list for longer than a year but I've only started having sex again within the last year. And of course this was the first time I've had sex in like six months too.
I don't deal well with hormonal birth control, but I am going to try the mirena iud as it does not have the specific hormones the pill has.
I do live where a first trimester abortion is free, and I can probably get a pregnancy test from my Dr for free too but I just went and got some at the store.

I've debated an IUD too but there's something about it that wigs me out. Don't let my unfounded neurosis change your mind though. I had problems with some hormonal bc pills too because of my hypertension so I'm on micronor now which seems to eliminate those bothersome side effects but you have to be super careful with timing so it's not something I'd recommend to most.
I'm sure you're aware of PlanB but it's something I think every woman should have at their house just in case. It's certainly saved my ass in the past, haha.
But really, sending some good vibes your way. Late periods are the worst kind of panic. I hope it goes well.

Fixed.
RP, my ex was like almost 2 weeks late one time. Freaked us out but eventually the red river came. It was just stress that caused it.

I don't think I would be a terrible mom, I certainly wouldn't be one of those take the kids to church every Sunday, have them enrolled in every possible extra curricular club, taking them to private catholic schools or anything of that sort. But I would make sure that any kid of mine did receive a regular schedule, lots of love and affection and of course healthy upbringing as best as possible. The main concern of all this has just been that I don't have a lot of money right now so being pregnant and carrying to term would be a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK IM NOT PREPARED FOR THIS.

Nope, no spotting. I was pregnant before and all obvious signs correlate just the test doesn't show positive so ya. I am just trying to chill out and I'll see my dr next week maybe.

Dude you'll be fine, you can always get an abortion as you said if you do happen to be preggers.

Yeah, but that can be super invasive. No one wants that. I would be worried too.

My mom had me pretty young, and while I'm happy I got the chance to exist, I had huge amounts of luck in my life which had led me to a happy life. It very well could've been otherwise. I wouldn't mind "not having existed", simply because I wouldn't have any judgement or feelings about it in the first place.
Don't let people bullshit you because they think that living in a trailer park is fine. It is not. Have happy well-fed kids, or don't have kids at all.
On a side note, me and my GF had this problem before, but as said earlier, it can spring from many things. In our case, there was no pregnancy. Next time, be safe, use steel condoms and take some sort of pill or spermicid or whatever.
