All of my quart jars hit 100% today, I'm going to spawn to coir/verm tomorrow..

As far as the cakes go, 5 are at 97%, 7 are at  like 75%...

Got 2nd cake in the FC, 3rd reached 100% colonization today going to give it its week consolidation, 4th jar is about 70-75% colonized. 5 other jars are also colonizing. Once I birth the 3rd/4th jar i'll knock up 5 more.

Here are a bunch of pics from my first grow!
PF tek (BRF) With Golden Teacher spores (1 cc per jar) I inoculated on 2-8-12

Heres the cakes at 2-21:

I dont have pics of them fully colonized but i let them get to 100% then let them consolidate for about 20 days.
Here is a contam i got in 1 jar during that process:

http://

I Birthed the cakes and dunked fully submerged for 24 hours..cleaned em off and rolled in dry verm. Then to the FC they went (on 3-28)

These pictures are from today (the 6th day in the FC)

Lots of blueing..It looks a bit darker in these photos.

Thanks for the advice.  I have been reading the forums for a few months now and am just taking it one day at a time.  I still have a long ways to go but I am excited to learn.

I know where your coming from. First time I ever did this was with a long time friend (Miss you buddy! Wish you were still around:smile:) and I had absolutely no idea how he was even ever able to figure it all out. But he did and our first grow (this was back in 02') was freaking awesome!! 25 trays and zero contaims. Not bad for first timers at trying bulk! Unfortunately, this was our first and last grow. Our friendship went somewhat south after that and I just never tried to grow again. Until about six months ago. Funny thing is, it's alot like how you learn to ride a bike. Once you've learned how to do it, you really don't forget, even after you haven't done it in awhile, you still remember how to!! So once you catch the hang of things, it's all really quite simple. You can :pm: me if there's questions you would rather ask me (or anyone thats been around for a good while) personally.

I have lids, ball canning jars with punches in the top for the needle. I didn't do tape as i use the old school method of foil and then pressure cooker (used an old cultivation video a friend had). I have another jar that's half covered and it looks just like that one but more ropy.

(ignore the tan dirt look it's not a contam it's the substrate, as it looked like that after steaming.)

I'm shocked at the growth personally I thought it might be mold at first, but nope mycelium.

4 holes yes and I used .5ccs in each hole. Drove the needle down at an angle so it touched glass and let it go. That's about it, I did have one of my Inuit friends do a dance for them (as a joke) guess the jokes on me.

Jokes only on you if your jars contaimed (unless you didn't believe the dance would work ). But from what I'm seeing, those jars are looking fucking awesome!!!!!!

Thanks, to even take the pics I Lysol the shit out of the room and wash my hands with antibacterial soap (as an emt I understand Sterilization). Need to get him to do another dance against contams I guess lol.

On a side note the syringe was from my friends (Inuit) isolated strain that showed massive fruiting. Hope it does that as well!

looking good so far :thumbup: but you should consider doing away with the foil,it would be more aesthetically appealing to us  tape or no tape, that to is only to be used during PCing and before inoculations as an extra precaution to avoid excess water content from entering your jars during steaming/PCing.the foil is only really needed for PC/sterilizing,your dry layer of verm will keep any contams at bay while the jars colonize, the biggest reason ive found against keeping the foil on the jars besides limited GE is that moisture sits under the foil and on top of the lids which will leave your dry verm barrier not so dry allowing contams to slip/wick right in,without tape on the holes its pretty necessary to let the top verm layer dry a bit by removing the foil after PCing once they have cooled some.tape and foil hinder GE which make for slower colonization :goodluck:
