I guess the real designers don't want share their skills for free
A professional website should not hold a contest to decide on what their logo is going to be. Even the average, just out of community college, designers know better than to attempt to produce a logo for a website without doing work to the stylesheets for every type of page the site uses.
Consistency is key. If your nice site is designed by one person or team of people, let them design the logo.
Logos aren't some game that just anyone with knowledge of photoshop jump into and hope to produce something worthwhile.

You keep going on about logos when it's simply a sticker design contest. No one is designing a logo for the Growery to use all over it's website.
I'm pretty sure the average, just out of community college designers would jump all over this contest in a heart beat considering how much work is available in the field.
EDIT: And yeah, are you saying my submissions posted over at the growery suck?

You are totally missing the point of this contest.
1. As stated before this is just for sticker designs to get out to our members so they can spread them around.
2. Try to attract more members. We don't need to hire anyone to do this, we would rather have people around here get involved with the sister site and give the money to someone from our community.
3. This was thought up and put together by members of the Growery. Not the staff. The only Mod to get involved was Stoneth.
To think that you have to hire someone to design a sticker is ludicrous.
And no, the designs coming in have been awesome.
