i've seen these same exact little fuckers floating in my eye for over 15 years. everyone has always told me that it's a tear in the retina and almost everyone gets them. i know i see worms and eggs or cysts. they become magnified on the lens of the eye, and if i relax i can see the detail in their bodies. these worms come from cat and dog shit, so my best guess is that it came from gardening and rubbing my eyes. the year i started gardening was the same year i started seeing these.

I've seen floaters all my life, nothing out of the ordinary.
unless this is something different which I doubt, is it a self diagnosis?

Lol. Isn't toxocariasis the retina-eating parasite? You ain't got that dude, otherwise you're vision would be going and you would fucking know if something was up if you had those devils. Shit, you really wouldn't know you had them until your vision started failing and you seen "scar"-like lesions in your sight.
It'll be floaters like above said, pretty common and completely harmless!

i've talked to doctors and naturopaths, all blow it off as the retina tear. i KNOW i see the worm and larva. they just look at me like i'm nuts though and always want to get to the real reason i'm there. apparently this is very common from what little i've read. it's a good reason to garden with gloves and keep the cat box clean.
my vision has been going downhill steadily for years. i've been seriously considering glasses for driving. my vision used to be crystal clear far and near. there's an acute and a lesser form of the infection, and i must have the lesser. i have to really search my field of view with a sunny sky to see them at all. sometimes they look far away and other times they are entirely taking up my whole field of view with a portion of their body. this probably has to do with the depth of moisture on my eye at the time affecting where the worm is in relation to the lens.
if it is floaters, then they sure look exactly like these worms and larval cysts.

So, you're telling me you've had doctors and specialists assess you multiply times yet they give you an all clear that you don't have an eye-eating parasite, that you seem intent on that you do?
I've never heard of a "lesser" infection of this infection because people that tend to get these horrible, devils spawn parasites die a slow painful death if it isn't treated or they are permanently effected if they survive.
I honestly think you are making yourself see stuff, I've been there before, I get an idea in my head and truly do "100%" think I see what I think I could see. I think another symptom is literally feeling the fuckers in your eyes, yet you've not mentioned that.
Shit, it obviously doesn't matter what I say, cause you are set on this idea. This isn't really a problem to mess around with, or ignore or sit on a computer forum to try and convince you and others you have this! Do you want go blind? You seem to be aware of this but haven't really done fuck all about it. An eye specialist could clear this once and for all and could give you the most accurate diagnosis with using his magnifier to see the scars and parasites in your eyes.
I find it also hard to believe you went to a doctor and complained about seeing parasites in your vision AND losing your sight, yet they never did anything further or recommended you to a real specialist.

i will see an eye specialist about it, if they don't laugh at me. i think it's confirmed through a blood test. i don't really know alot about it, but i thought it was cool that i figured out what i at least think i have.
when i see a doctor, they have about 20 minutes to spend and rush to my most immediate problem, usually being something broken or kidney stones.

Self diagnosing yourself with google is a good way to become a hypochondriac. Everybody has those and yes, they look exactly like that worm and the little circular thing to me too. I always wondered if they were alive but nothing has ever come of it.
The only reason you even see them so much is because you're constantly looking for them.

no i don't worry about it or constantly look for it. i only see it a few times per year really and only when i'm relaxing in the sun. why would a fold or tear in the retina look like a worm with round cysts floating around, and why do so many people who i've asked about it see exactly the same thing? maybe this belongs in the conspiracy forum instead. i have even heard guru types call this a psychic parasite. if i could see actual evidence that it's a tear or fold, i'd go with that, but i haven't seen any evidence that can be quantified. there's plenty of evidence to show exactly what it is when viewed as a parasite. if doctors all of a sudden admitted this was real, then we'd almost all be infected and have no faith in their ability to diagnose. now if there was just a way for us all to take a picture through our eye's lense.

i don't diagnose myself with anything. i have a pa doctor, gastoenterologist, and urologist. i came across this while looking for something else and thought it seemed interesting, that's all. my whys from above still remain unanswered though for anybody who wants to try. i'm open to rational ideas and evidence.

The pictures of what retinal tears/detachments look like are nothing like what the pictures you have posted are. I agree you probably don't have that but for those doctors to get it wrong and not treat it so many times is fucked up on the part of your doctors.

says mild infections clear up on their own. i've been around dogs and cats my whole life. i even ate a white dog turd in my yard when i was three. after that, i would routinely sneak over to the neighbor's back door and eat their cat food. they fed their cat crave and i liked it the best. this went on until about 3rd or 4th grade. i also remember eating my grandma's cat food down the street. she fed her cat 9 lives, and i liked it because of the different flavors and shapes. needless to say, i spend alot of time around cats. my cousin also lived down the street, and they raised dogs, alot of dogs. if the cats didn't get me, those dogs must have. my cousin did get really sick with that extra white blood cell disease for awhile growing up, and they never figured out what caused it.

I still think you're imagining it all. Your reasons are always changing, first you said you probably got them from gardening, but you somehow forgot about cat food, looks like you just overthink everything and look for where you where possibly infected.
What I'm I saying is, it looks like you've seen this disease online and now you're trying to convince yourself you have it.
You have somehow conjured up that you are infected by a fatal parasite because you tell yourself you're seeing cysts and shit, if I wanted to bugs in eyes and started at my floaters, I'd be able to convince myself they were moving, you didn't even mention vision troubles until I mentioned it!
Ah well... Get to the specialists instead of sitting on a fucking computer, trying to convince yourself you're ill!

I've had these so called worm floaters as long as I can remember and I'm almost 60 now and the only one in my family that still doesn't need glasses. I do use reading glasses from the drug store but hardly need them most of the time. Time not to get paranoid.

Eesp if you have had any head or eye trauma since childhood. there are a bunch of other things that can make more show up but i cant remember
My left eyeconstaly has innumerabl floaters, i dont see them all all the time but i see their distortion on whatever they overlap in my visual field
There are ways that can get rid of them, but its not very successful most of the time and its very invasive.

yeah, it doesn't bother me really. still nobody has answered my question of why floaters would look like worms and cysts, and why alot of people see the same things. stop trying to belittle me without at least rationally trying to answer my questions.

not a hypochondriac. that's a belittling statement when you don't even know me. does one potential self diagnosis make me hypochondriac?
my questions are still unanswered. why would this anomally look like a worm and cysts just like what i gave a picture of? it's as clear and obvious as looking at a parasite through a disectiscope. i can see a head and body segments. i understand you can't see what i see, but that doesn't make you right and me wrong, nor is the opposite true. how is it rational or logical to ignore what i see? an actual diagnosis from an eye doctor is going to be the only way to be sure what it is, not a redundant argument between you and i.

Several years ago I complained to my optometrist about translucent squiggles and spots in the center of my left field of vision. Even though I was young with 20/15 vision, the diagnosis was macular degeneration. Now, every year, the doctor includes a very in depth retinal exam as part of my annual eye exam to measure the progression. I take multivitamins for eye health to slow it down.
My point is, have you asked about macular degeneration? Just a thought based on your symptoms.

Yikes. Wear your polarized sunglasses and eat your veggies. Those two things will help preserve your eyes regardless of the official diagnosis. The eyes are literally the windows into the brain, and what is good for the body and brain is good for the eyes. And vice versa.
