What does?
If your are talking about friedbacon's first photo, it is most definately a Stropharia/Leratiomyces

Hmm. What about the warts on the cap? Or is it partial veil remnants?

I think just partial veil remnants.
They closely resemble Leratiomyces squamosus var. thraustus

What's up everyone, here's my first post, hopefully I've followed the rules correctly and make it a good one.
Found these beauty's in my neighbours front yard. Very surprised as I am located in the very inner northern suburbs and nobody was expecting any for another week or so. A mate had the four pictured at midday and said it was one of the best trips he has ever had. Quite intense but was ended by four pm. Short and sweet he said. Getting very pumped now as we had been loosing hope for our immediate/favourite area this season. These are a nice glimpse of hope! The third picture is the group we found them amongst but we decided to leave the others are we didn't need anymore today and they looked pretty chatty. Cheers.

hello, this is my first hunt found these near a freeway sound barrier. too many houses around with a good view of me so I just pulled these two appart, there are heaps left. Just wondering if anyone could please ID? they have what I think is blue bruising on them. I'm also attempting my first spore print.
They're Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

That is some dedication right there
I would seperate what you found on to some paper and post an ID request, just to make sure you didn't grab anything else in amongst them though.

Hey guys, first post. Have picked and tripped a little.
Wondering if anyone knows when the season peaks. I dont have the time to go picking much, so wondering when they really come out in bloom. Great forum BTW, love the respect.

Just focus on hunting after rain, pretty much from now untill the beginning of Sept. you will find them, mushrooms don't use calendars though so it is all dependant on the conditions.
It should pick up quite a bit once the temps start dropping some more though.

Not sure on that, I am sure others could tell you more specifically, I pretty much hunt whenever I have free time once the season begins.
Just work it around whatever time you have, ie; if you have free time 2 days after it rained go hunting, if it's 4 days after go hunting. My point was more, don't waste time if you can't afford to when it hasn't rained for a long period.
