Dont worry too much about it, there are plenty of spores in the air. No biggie.

um okay im a little (FUCKING WELL AND TRULY) baked.. sorry if it doesn't make sense
Spores are produced while the caps opens and the mushroom matures, pins have no spores. The cap opens and the gills start to darken with spores, then they are released.
Mooshing pins and walking them over the place will help spread them due to the mycelium on the mushroom, more so then spores being present
Am i on-subject?

Lol, yea now you are making a heap more sense, at the same time everything you've just said relates directly to what I had already mentioned.

On a side note, even if that was the case I am quite sure not every pin would be trampled. Why pick such a pitiful amount of material to potentially harm the patches overall health, instead of waiting a couple of weeks and picking it silly with no ill effects.
I am also curious as to when mushrooms actually develop spores, I know full well when they drop them.

I thought that pins weren't mature enough to produce spores?

Pins will have spores in them, though the spores themselves may not be fully developed and therefore not fertile. I have found that shortly after the veil breaks and the cap starts to open more is when spores are fully mature.

Hunting forum rules:
4. Do not ask about current finds in your area. These posts have been flooding the forum for years. If you're curious about if mushrooms are growing in your area, get out there and look! Mushrooms don't read the books. Sometimes they fruit outside of season. There is no set date for any season, only vast generalizations. Your best bet is that if it's close to the season for the mushroom you are looking for and its been raining, you just might find some.
5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather. This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting. As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

EDIT: This guy is in tamworth, and he found subs. Get looking! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11423577

Found these today growing around some bushland, not exactly sure if they are subaeruginosa since some are quite a bit larger than the ones I've seen before, but I'm pretty sure they are. Decided to post these pics here just to make sure all of them are alright

That's awesome. Saw a stupid amount of what i'm pretty sure was Galerina Marginata growing everywhere from the fallen bark on the ground so I thought best to make sure. Amatoxin Poisoning =/= Fun :P

I have hunted Newcastle and Barrington and had no luck - It is a bit to far up the coast for Subs, you will have to drive towards Sydney.
Went out for a hunt today - nothing much happening, the weather has not dropped enough for my patches. Still had a good walk with the dog and found a few spots with Galerina's that will hopefully yield Subs once the temperature drops.
Did not bring anything home except a leach attached to my leg.

Hi all, I'm new here. Been lurking for a while, thought I might make an account and post.
I am pretty new to hunting, but am looking forward to this season eagerly, have learned quite a bit from reading through older posts and think I have some of the finer points down pat. We shall see.
Looking like it might be a decent season ahead, what with the summer that wasn't. Things are pretty damp now too. Just waiting for the conditions to become a bit more favourable (aren't we all?).
Heading up into the hills soon as it looks like the right type of conditions needed to get some flushes happening maybe on the way.
Again, looking forward to this season and also watching this thread as it unfolds. Any tips are welcome, though I will continue to scourge the older posts as much as time permits.
Cheers.

Warm welcome to you TriptoniK! I wish you luck and fortune on your hunts. I really found the old NSW 2009-2011 season threads helpful, I think reading all these saved my alot of frustration in the field.
Only a few finds here.
Still hoping to find the motherload one day...

Thanks for the warm welcome zarzar, been looking through both of those threads and some older ones too. Very helpful. Just ordered a good Aussie field guide, looking forward to getting it and reading about all the different species occurring here in Aus and going out and IDing some and hopefully getting some decent pics. Hopefully get some pics for this thread soon too.
