You would think that'd be the case, and I used to think the same, but now, I don't.
As far as I know, the government/military complexes of the planet use physical means of perceiving the world around them and beyond - I believe that 'aliens'/non-physical beings are best contacted with the mind/soul/spirit - which is able to traverse beyond the frequency range of our 'physical' world into other energy systems.
Edit: And yes, I know how crazy that probably sounds to some people. I'm ok with that. If I heard someone say that 8 years ago I would have probably instantly assumed they had some serious mental health problems and live a very odd life. But hey, the world isn't what most people assume it to be. I've learned that from firsthand experience, as have tons of other "crazy" people.

all due respect, i think you're getting way ahead of yourself as far as the implications psychedelics go.
let's back up several steps here and look at a few things first. at this point, we have absolutely no understanding of what conscious experience, or consciousness, or phenomenal consciousness as it is sometimes referred to, is. we have a few models that work to explain certain aspects of consciousness, but they are incomplete. we have a lot of data on how various processes in the brain work, but we can't really tie those to phenomenal consciousness, which is a crucial point in where our models fail but hardly the only point. so in short, we don't really even have a general idea as to what's going on, so any supposition that goes beyond that general idea is really just conjecture. that isn't to say that the proposal that we may actually be coming into contact with autonomous intelligences is untrue, but i think we need to figure out what's going on at the most fundamental level before that can be proven or disproven.

You are correct! But if the 'drug' never existed, i would still be sticking needles in my arm, so psilocybin cured it, in a way. I think  but the end result was good! I mean ive been to jail for a few months in a cell with 3 black kids that clearly didnt like me, 3 detoxes..nothing worked. THEN THERE CAME PSILOCYBIN! <3

i love conversations like this, i could talk about the great mystery all day. What I want to know is on "drugs" why are there so much thoughts of space? If they were pointless and stupid dont you think people would think about pointless stupid things, not the most important grandest thing we know of?? i love the universe and if plants "which I have a great respect for" want me to think about it then im diving in head first, I trust nature and dont think its sending me false messages. When I was 16 I first tried weed and I dont even want to think about who I would be if we never crossed paths, probably in jail stuck in societies materialistic view

You need to understand that it's not the psychedelics giving you such thoughts. It is you who has such thoughts with the aid of psychedelics. They take your own thoughts and deepest delusions and make them concious. Yet it is important to recoginize them for what they are: delusions
That doesn't make such experiences meaningless, as they are clearly meaningful to you. It is your subconcious communicating with your conciousness. How could this ever be without meaning?
However, one should try to stay rational or you will eventually end up in the psych ward.
