Oh BTW casket, I'm probably going on a road trip to Santa Cruz for 4/20... you should come with and blaze it up. They shut the campus down every 4/20 and weed is effectively legal to smoke there, supposedly.

Of all places to move, you pick one of the most expensive states in the nation. Why?

We went there back in like 82 to visit my moms friend who lived across the street from us in Long Beach. That is before moving to Prescott.
It was a trip staying up in the mountains and hill where all the air was clean and it was far colder than the LBC in January. So I have good memories of that trip.
The only other bit of Arizona I've experienced is just driving Interstate 10 going back and forth between Long Beach, where I Was born and raised, to Odessa Texas so I could get in touch with all my red neck and shit kicking Relatives.

California stinks. Companies will not and simply CAN NOT pay you for the cost of living here unless you have a 2 hour commute. PERIOD. Unless you are exec or getting RSUs or stocks or something that gives you the ability to make 250K on a single income, STAY AWAY from SillyCON valley. LA has no jobs, and if you arent ex-mil, San Diego has no jobs. California is horrific.
Seriously, as bad as you think AZ is, you can actually live on minimum wage, it stinks, but its doable. In California, you can't even eat on minimum wage. Seriously, you will sneak food working at whole foods or something just to eat and youll rent a ROOM somewhere, not an apt.
Life is horrible in CA.

If I could set down down my roots and let them grow with a family, babies and a baby's mama - a life long partner in procreation that is; the mountainous areas of Arizona would be very tempting. I really liked living out in gods creation more so than living in the city. That was an issue with me and my ex. I liked living in the hills and the mountains and shit. She was just a city girl...
