Would you take a lesser salary to be able to work at home?

Thoughts?
Graduating shortly, and have the opportunity to work with a really cool company, which most work is done remotely (eg. I get to work from home). Unfortunately the salary is around 5K less than what I was offered at a company where I would have to commute to work every day.
Even with the transit costs, it wouldn't reach the 5K difference. But I really like the idea of not having to fight with traffic, not losing two+ hours of my day to commuting, and being able to .
I have done consulting work before while in School working from home so I kind of got a feel for how it is and I really like the freedom of being able to get up at 6:30AM and be ready for work at 7, instead of having to get up at 5AM to be able to reach for 7.
So my question - would you take a pay cut of around 5K to be able to work from home?

I'd work for free if I could swirl in a cauldron all day making GHB
Sometimes I miss the days of MDMA manufacture; for a penny you create love and it's there to be shared
On-topic: I wouldn't really mind a pay cut as long as I can still get around; perhaps moving is an option for you? For me if I can get to my work within a 1-2h bicycle trip there's no problem (but that's personal)

Yes. Working @ home saves the time (and costs) of commuting and that means that it's acceptable to pay for a slightly lower wage. If it's worth it to you, that is your decision. Also, work is about a lot more than location and wages, so I wouldn't base my judgement solely on these two aspects. But you're well aware of that, I assume.

I assume you're talking about a 5k cut annually. In that case I would say it's worth the lack of stress.

Obviously, it depends on the work circumstances.
Call me crazy, but I've had jobs where I enjoy a commute. In the mornings, there is a hustle and bustle as everyone moves to get on the subway, bus etc. i don't mind it.
Also, I'd get kind of bored if I were home five times a week. But yeah, it would be a consideration.
