Hello folks. After 6 (!) weeks or so an inoculated jar shows signs of growth. BRF jar, GT MS syringe
Can't say if this is healthy myc or mold.
Yesterday:

Today:

Thanks for your opinions.

Update:
This is how it looks today:

I don't think it's healthy at all. It looks so puffy... Can someone verify it is contaminated?

i would say it has to be since this is 6 weeks after you inoculated them, right? i dont think the spores would have germinated with that kind of delay.

Inoculation date was January 25th. This is one of three jars I inoculated with the same syringe. The other two jars show no sign of growth.
I've read about jars taking up to 4 weeks to start colonization, so thats why I've kept the jars but I have given up hope long time ago.

That is no question mycelium. What temperature do you have them incubating at? A few degrees makes a huge difference. I had this same problem before, it was about the same time frame and I had them at probably 68-70 degrees, then when I put them somewhere at 80 it colonized the other 90 % within like 5 days. Try turning the temps up, You'll be surprised

Update:

I am incubating at ~21°C/70°F. I'll raise temp a little bit. I appreciate your advice. Also, there is no smell at all, I'm sure this is a good sign. I'll post some updates from time to time.

Do your lids have holes for gas exchange?

Yes, the two holes I inoculated through, approx. 2mm in diameter.

Ya I would be willing to bet that if you raises the temp to 80 it'd be fully colonized in like 3 days. The good thing about cold grown mycelium is that the shrooms that grow out of it are going to be noticeably more potent so something to look forward to. For future reference, cobweb grows a hell of a lot faster than myc, and is unlikely to attack(although still very possible) unless they are in the fruting chamber.

cobweb is also grey, not white. I think you may need more GE, but that's just my opinion. I usually have a hole the size of a nickel in my lids and I use an easy felt type material as a screen. I like to keep temps at around 75-80F. Raise your temps up a little bit and you should notice faster growth.
