Incorrect. If it smells like weed, they can search it.
If it doesn't smell like weed, they can still search it anyway if it matches some of the criteria for suspicious packages. For example, a fake return address, excessive tape and a hand written address label will allow them to get a warrant to open it.

^ I'm sorry to tell YOU but YOU are incorrect. My mother works at a post office and any package that smells like weed, or looks suspicious gets slapped with a sticker and sent to the search sector. In fact she even told me they HAVE found suspicious/smelly packages, sent them back and they turned out to contain pounds of bud.

Well if THEY opened the package than THEY broke the law and your mother is an accessory to a CRIME. They aren't allowed to open someones private mail, its like private property and they need an official warrant from a judge to do so. My uncle knows ALL about it and he told me.

I did not say they opened it... I said if a suspicious package/smelly package comes through, they slap a sticker on it and send it back to head office where they (trained federal investigators) CAN and DO search it.

you shouldn't be "shipping drugs" per say...maybe try your hand at a loop hole...you know you are actually shipping the box...and the drugs are just packing materials to help the box keep it's form while in transit.
Same thing when you're "selling weed." Selling drugs is what drug dealers do, it's a crime. So you're actually just selling people blunt wraps, and the weed is free.
But yea I always ask whoever is working at the post office if they are a cop when I'm dropping off. Because if they are cops they have to tell you. There's nothing suspicious about knowing your rights.

And you should ask them on the spot as well if they are going to search it, and get the pinky swear on camera as evidence later on if needed. Cereally.
