Lucky you, i've just started going out this year first few times was around end of Aug, found a lot of cool species but i still havent found a single sub. me and some friends did enjoy the scenery though being from the suburbs and all. People in my state seem to be picking them by the 100's and i cant find 1 kinda frustrating lol but i guess that's part of the hunt
have said this beofre but not here,
You have a few months to study up on subs and possible locations. coming into summer, you can do some mycology an microscope work on something such as Cubensis until season kicks off. so you have a understanding of the Psilocybe species.

I only started hunting this year too and have only found enough for a single dose. The initial plan was to find enough so I could have a first time tripping with 2 of my close friends. So the mushies are just sitting in a jar at the moment. I might just take them alone when I feel like it lol.

Unless youve found them in the area, there not there and sorry buddy its not your area its everyones, if its been raped, source a new area, 100s isnt greedy, 1000s isnt greedy the season is only around once a year and its a long time inbetween, people stock up and give to friends and help people out, its what its all about. I suggest you put the effort in and find new areas. Its all about how much you put in to how much you get out, its not easy and it takes 100s of hours of dedication and 1000s of kms of walking. Start early mark spots, get prepared and you will find next season.

Yes a journal for the serious, well experienced SA bush walkers. Il look for some feed back from a couple of other interest parties. If too hard il do one myself anyway.
To the SA hunting team for this year and previous , your pics and the hunts make inbetween alll the Internet dribble all worth while! Thanks for sharing!

Al done and dusted. Impressed with the late season finds there Umma and Alterior. Another 8 months to renew the excitement of this season and plenty of time for you noobs to learn what to look for next season!
Umma, Starting a journal is what I have had in mind for next season also. A thread for as you say "serious sa bushwalkers" would be pretty sweet.
Been out hiking plenty since the season has ended. Found some new habitats along the way I'd bet my bottom dollar on producing lots of subs next season.
Here's a few sub shots taken throughout the 2012 season that I couldn't be bothered uploading.

Great shots ericos. Those look vibrant enough that I feel like I could pick them right out of the screen. But thats not how science works. Stupid science....
