I <3 ya'll and the S&M
    #15802838 - 02/13/12 11:58 AM (3 months, 14 days ago)

I've been posting here for a little over 3 years. I signed up for Shroomery specifically for the S&M board. To me, this is the greatest forum for spirituality and mysticism related things.

For pretty much my entire shroomery career I've mostly lurked. (If you can't tell by my low post count and my weird registration date ) Usually when I have a question, the first thing I do is go to the search bar and type it in. 9/10 times, the question that I have had already been discussed by some people 5 or 6 years ago on this board. There's just such a wealth of information here.

Well, in a couple of days, I will be moving to a country where I can't visit Shroomery. It kinda saddens me. But I saw it coming.

I'm writing this as a thank you. You've all been a huge part of my growth as a person. This is probably not only my favorite forum, but my favorite website as well.

The greatest part about this board is that there isn't one reigning philosophy or belief that runs the show here. Everyone has a different view point! With one post you'll get a reply on how Christians might look at the situation, how Buddhism may view the subject, a dark arts explanation, ideas on what astral projections and out of body experience tell us about the world, skepticism towards the subject, shamanism... the list goes on. It's just a really open minded place. It's fantastic.

So to everyone here, thanks a lot. You've all been an invaluable addition to my growth.

I'll hopefully be back in about 6 months when I return to the US. (That is, if all goes according to plan and I don't die. I hope I don't, but hey, ya never know.)

I'm guessing you could probably get around the filter using Tor, but I wouldn't know how it works wherever the heck you're going. Peace

Thanks for the heart warmed responses everyone.

Yeah, I'll be moving to China. I realized I kinda left that part out in my OP.

While I'm not 100% if shroomery is blocked, I'm pretty sure my access point for the internet is even narrower than China at large. I'm moving to China for Language study. There's a Taoist temple near by that I hope to visit (last time I didn't) and I hope I can get involved in some Ch'an studies.

To Kickle, I'll probably have a lot to say once I return.

And to deff, I hope I return as well. :sun:

There are huge fines in China for using Proxies and anonymity software. Personally, I think I'll just stay away from it. Also, it'll be a good chance to get into a change of pace and to hopefully break some habits.

we will soon see "topless" nuns sensually throwing their bodies about to the "Missa Solemnis

Safe travels & a happy journey.

Here's a thought for the road. And this comes from someone who has traveled the world a few times (and I'm currently a Western immigrant in the Middle East). No matter where you go... there you are. It's quite amazing. The only zen you will ever find on a mountaintop (or in a temple) is the zen that you bring with you. There is nothing to find. More so, it's one thing to understand your Self on a retreat, and another to practice in the nitty gritty world that we call daily life.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to life decisions. Travel is a beautiful thing and has helped me grow more than anything else in this world. But, somehow, my Self is always waiting for me no matter where I end up. And as I've gradually learned, people are essentially composed of the same energy all over the world. Significant cultural difference abound, but we can all gradually see behind those masks.

Thanks for the tip!

I've had a similar revelation before. No matter where I am, I'm always in the present. It doesn't matter if I'm here or on the moon, it's always right now and I'm always right here. Pretty cool. :sun: You worded that very well.

I hope all's good for everyone. Take care ya'll.
