so i been searching the internet for some info and i came up short on where to start. i found a ton of info to help me extract the active medicinal compounds in the mycelium, but how to get the mycelium out of the LC?? can i boil down the LC once its been determined it is not contaminated? boil it down enough to be able to add it to alcohol and extract whatever is soluble only in alcohol? im concerned that if i boil it down to a goo it might change the active ingredients and render them useless. maybe use a fine strainer? i guess trial and error will tell. anyone try something similar. id love to make liquid culture of several medicinal mushrooms and make a concentrated tea that has both water and alcohol soluble active ingredients.

your post is a bit vague on what species exactly you are wanting to do this with, but most medicines to be derived fro myco medicinals are secondary metabolites, meaning that the myc has to capture a substrate, then go through the subsequent hormonal shifts pre-fruit formation, before starting to manufacture the compounds sought after,,, so we arrive at point moot,,

I love to trade wedges. Currently looking for a nice brick top and Pleurotus Eunosmus the Tarragon Oyster. I am also getting interested in the agaricus, so if you have a cool agaricus in good genetic condition PM me please

im mostly interested in reishi, cordyceps, turkey tail and chaga. im not sure if the mycelium has as much active compounds as the mushroom itself and how to create the metabolites you speak of. i thought metabolites were created as the mushroom was braking down whatever it was eating, metabolizing. to my understanding this is how aloha medicinals make their mushroom supplement pills, with dried and powdered mycelium.
