also, has anyone found a real unbiased delegate tally? I realize it is difficult since so many are non binding, but for example, they show santorum as winning 13 delegates from minnesota and everyone else with 0. even though MN has 40 delegates.

Not possible. All delegate counts right now are completely fictional. For example, CNN was giving a delegate total for each of the nominees after yesterday, even though not a single delegate was given out.

i realize that, but what can be quantified is the number of people elected as delegates, for which camp, after the polls close. why is it impossible to stay on top of this?

He was referring to national polling.
Which isn't really a good indicator of what will happen as the primaries and caucuses play out. For example, Newt was polling better than Romney nationally going into Florida, and Romney handily defeated him. Now look where Gingrich is nationally...

The RCP average has Paul fourth, at 14.5, three points behind Sanctorum, so, even if one poll has him in second, it's not really accurate at all to describe him as being second nationally.

see, this is the problem. that number has been at 8 for a week now, yet they have tacked on delegates from last tuesdays primaries for everyone else, even though RP got a large chunk.
again, let me explain to people that once polling is finished, that is when they elect a county delegate and the biggest point in this campaign is that RP has people staying afterwards. While santorum won minnesota, RP got almost twice as many pledged delegates as santorum there.
to say that RP has only gotten 8 delegates is a joke and an obvious attempt at trying to make people like you believe that he isnt doing as well as he actually is. RP pulled down more than 8 delegates in minnesota alone.

Last I checked, nobody in the Republican race has any delegates yet. The numbers are complete fiction at this point.

The Republicans need a better campaign strategy. The MSM loves Obama, and the right can't get a decent campaign together. If they just change their ways a bit and adapt to current independent environment and ditch the conservative social issues or at least put on back burner they could win next election and gain more support.

good job making the mistake of believing the media when it comes to delegates. they are flat out lying. I would believe they are lying when regular people tell me so but especially when the RP campaign says they are flat out lying then I definately believe it. RP has a ton of delegates right now.

No they aren't. You simply don't understand what they are saying. It's clear for anyone who looks that those numbers are estimates based on vote totals.

The delegate count is completely fabricated. Anyone who believes them needs some education.

You need some education in re the definition of the word "fabricated" and the definition of the word "estimated". If they really are "completely fabricated", I'm sure you'll be kind enough to explain for us what the count for, say, Florida, really is.

fab·ri·ca·tion [fab-ri-key-shuhn] Show IPA noun 1. the act or process of fabricating; manufacture. 2. something fabricated, especially an untruthful statement: His account of the robbery is a complete fabrication.
See number 2. They aren't claiming it is an estimate, they are claiming its reality. Even someone on this thread is. This makes it a fabrication....

Here is Rachael Maddow unhappily explaining a bit about how delegates work in caucus states.
Now perhaps you people can be a little more based in reality, instead of foolishly using imaginary numbers to attack Paul.

The link provided in this thread specifies, state by state, which totals are precise and which are estimates. You'll notice that the states with nonbinding results are the ones for which they provide estimates, based on vote totals. So I don't think that fits the criteria for claiming they are precise reality. Maybe other sources are saying "these are the exact results"?

Have you seen any mainstream media news broadcast of the GOP elections? And the numbers listed on that link are still rubbish. Paul has designed his campaign around states that have non appointed delegates. Nor did I ever claim to be "precise reality".
