 Its been a while for me, but im back at it with some QUESTIONS

I have a few random questions for you guys just so i can have myself back up to speed again. First question is about PH. I case using grain (millet) as the substrate and a 50/50 mix of peat moss (or coco coir) with vermiculite. I seem to be caught up to speed just from my memory of learning how to do all this thanks to this website some 5 years ago. Anyways about the PH, i need to know what a good substance i can use to keep PH at the levels they're suppose to be. I think i remember it being either crushed oyster shells, or maybe hydrated lime, but i don't know. Also what PH am i aiming for when using my method of casing for cubensis? Other than that I've retained everything else i use to know. Help finding this info in a TEK or link or something would be appreciated as well.

You will get much better results if you spawn to something rather than straight casing. I cased for a good year or so before I learned about spawning once I learned I never looked back to casing unless its something other than cubes that require a casing. If your still going to stick to cased grains alot of people use 50/50+ so verm/coir+ hydrated lime.

Would you mind posting some links to some spawning TEK's for i don't know anything about it. The method i speak about is the only method i know how to do, other than the PF tek. Thanks though for letting me know its hydrated lime and not crushed oyster shells. How much does + usually mean? 1%... 5%... 1TBS?
With the added lime, I'm assuming there is no need for me to keep track of the PH levels? What should a casings PH be anyhow for cubensis?
You say you never looked back, is that because your current method of doing things is a lot easier?

Yea damions tek is prolly one of the easiest best noob friendly teks out there.
Ive never PH'd a mushroom grow I leave the PH for chronic. Its not that important for growing cubes. Im sure in the collection of links that daft punk provided there is one for 50/50+ casing. That should be exactly what your looking for. Id really suggest skipping the casing and spawning though like I said before. A spawned project is a higher yielding tray for me each and every time

I have another question after looking over those TEKs. As a spawn which is best to work with having the least contamination issues? Ive always worked with WBS / millet because its easily purchased from the pet store... Would you guys recommend something else that might make life easier?

Lately Ive become a fan of WBS spawned to manure/Verm/Gypsum. Its a simple recipe, and is producing good results. I would experiment with the ratios to find out what works best for you.
