Correct family but wrong tribe.
This plant is medicinal, but out shined by other plants that are better known for its aid.
Its common name tells all about its use and yeah thats all for my hints that I shouldn't just be handing out... BUT
I am super duper stoked to see you back!! how were your travels or what ever you were up to?!?!

must be one of the bonesets then, hmmm.
still travelling down south. i got a home base at my parent's here in borrego springs. i went to the oceanview mine last weekend for elbaite tourmaline, schorl tourmaline, kunzite, triphane, aquamarine, morganite, and others. i've been planning to go to the cady mts. for plume and sagenite agate, and i just fixed my airstream door handle, so i'll be off sometime in the near future. i found an area out here where gold mining had been done or is being done. there's a contact zone there where the pegmatites meet the basalts, and i was finding schorl tourmaline everywhere in their tailing piles. now if i could only interest someone with a few million to invest in getting a mine running there and go much deeper than the gold for the elbaites and rubelites. i'm almost certain they're there. i need heavy equipment like a track hoe, bulldozer, dump truck, and demolitions. it's a big investment for something that might take years to start paying off. there is lepidolite as a source of lithium and feldspar as a source for porcelain there, but...

Unfortunately still off...
but for some mindless chitchat- The borrego springs area is epic, I have had some crazy adventures wandering around and watching big horn sheep.
Tons of awesome wildlife, plants, and people! I found this treefrog in this oasis and they had a very peculiar genetic variation and blended into the granite. Very pretty place.
Hope you can get at dem rocks and minerals, I have a jackhammer if that helps XD

borrego is pretty awesome, but the pegmatites here are driving me nuts! i went back and gathered as much black tourmaline in quartz and feldspar that i could find for spheres. they'll be really pretty i hope. i think it'll cost too much to get far underground for the elbaites, but damn, it's worse than gold fever! i still haven't seen any big horn sheep here. where exactly did you see them? i went out to pena spring today up by ranchita and knapped a few spear points, and was hoping to see some wildlife, but all i've really seen here so far are birds. the roadrunners are pretty cool though.
