Start up biotech (my favorite) recent reverse-split and is running their single drug candidate through phase III trials. Final outcome of data expected March 2013. Their drug is Vosaroxin.
"Vosaroxin is an anti-cancer quinolone derivative (AQD)-a class of compounds that has not been used previously for the treatment of cancer." It acts similarly to the way an antibiotic fights off an infection, through apoptosis of the invading or in this case cancerous cell. It is better than the competition as it is less invasive to healthy cells (targets specific DNA strands.)
I currently have 40% of my investment acct. in this. Average cost: $1.93
Earnings come March 23rd I believe. Mid-trial data expected soon also. Recent change in directors. Inside buying. Price to book a little over 2. (Could drop to 80 cents on bad news) Any thoughts?

Eek...when did you buy? Was it last spring or near the end of summer? 40% is quite a lot to put into a biotech start-up. Many of them hardly make it. If they manage to make it through the trials you still have to worry about manufacturing, distribution, etc. A buyout would be nice, but big pharma probably won't touch it unless it passes. A year is also a long time to wait. A lot of time for a penny stock to do all types of things...and a long time for a vast array of problems to present themselves in the FDA process.

Been buying since about April. Just bought more recently to average down. The reason I am posting this is to not only get opinions outside of my work, but to suggest that this is an excellent buy right now. I believe preliminary mid-trial data is soon to come, and that it will be quite positive. I am expecting the stock to fly to around $3.80. If it does and depending on the volume, I will sell, and attempt to time it once again after it drops along the final road to approval.
They have enough cash for at least 2 quarters. Eventually, I have a feeling it could drop as low as .60 to .80 cents because of this or general bad news from the FDA. Even if I screw it up and end up holding at that point, my intuition tells me that this drug will get approval without too much of a hassle from the FDA. A handful of similar drugs have been approved in the United States and it has benefits over those drugs in addition to its novel way of destroying cancer cells.
Script: What company are you talking about? Discovery Labs? Sometimes the FDA appears to hold off on approving a drug but I am confident that it is mostly the fault of the company directors themselves if they fail to produce efficacy/safety data in an acceptable manner.

Welp, I'm looking at over 100% gains here.
I traded it a few times in the past few months and currently hold 3800 shares at a cost of $3.16/shr. using mostly house money. Data is due out sometime this month, hoping to see $4.
I figure a bump is in order, that way if there is bad news in the next couple weeks I can cry on the shroomery's shoulder.
