blue board foam panels on grow room walls.
    #15803954 - 02/13/12 03:44 PM (3 months, 14 days ago)

aside from its obvious structural weakness, does anyone see other problems with using this to line the walls and ceiling of a grow room?  The room will be approx 20 by 16... Its waterproof and you could easily silicone calk all the joints to seal it. I dont think 10% chlorox would bother it. Also wondering about its use in a lab.  Anyone?

Great stuff.  I wrapped the top of my underground grow room, and the top and sides of the colonization room with it.  It insulates enough that I don't have to heat the dry room, since it holds the heat produced by the mycelium.  After placing the styrofoam, I put plywood over the top of it to spread out the soil load, and then covered it first with a large tarp, and then plastic sheeting over that before refilling the excavation.

I was actually thinking about this the other day at lowes. They make it in 2" thick sheets even. That would be pretty sturdy.

NO PROBLEM WITH IT.. Its a little high priced compard to contractors plastic .. u can cover walls and ceiling and glue all the end together or where they overlap with a can of 3m spray adhesize just get the kind for the polyethelene.. i built a 10 by 6 by 7 fet tall using one can and one roll of 25 feet poly.. couple pieces of wood.. If i did it again i would use white plastic if i could find it..

I build my rooms (inside an old greenhouse) out of a similar product, but then cover the boards with white plastic. Look out for a lightblock plastic,- I get it from the manufacturer. It's triple layer white/black/white so it is durable and food grade.
Sometimes you can pick up the boards as "seconds" on flea bay.

Thinking about Growing Gourmet for a living? See if you can afford it!

Mmmm! Goddamn, Jimmie! This is some serious gourmet shit! Usually, me and Vince would be happy with some plain ole Agaricus right, but he springs this serious GOURMET shit on us!

TRADE Looking for a Volvariella Volvacea culture and a commercial pink culture of known origin. Have strong edible strains to trade.
