You need verm and coir and tub.

Verm - home depot/garden store.
coir - pet store (petco, pets mart) in reptile section, or hydro store

of course u want to grow them... thats what we all want to do right ?

but what we mean from asking you "what you want to do with them" means HOW and what METHOD are you going to use to reach the Goal of growing them.

i use damion 5050 Coir tek... its very easy and i recommend it.
Give it a read and get an idea :

here is another write up of the same tek but explained a bit differently ( with addition of how to make your tub) :

Good Luck

this is what was confusing me. Perlite is normally used with PF Teks.  But he has grain jars. Maybe your making trays with grain/verm and fruiting em in a perlite shotgun chamber?  Big ass grain cakes?  Maybe your doing a monotub, but why the perlite then?

what is the purpose of perlite then? i was going to use on the bottom of the tub as a way to keep in moisture since water only coats it and will evaporate in the tub

if you have JARS or grain then you wont need Perlite.
Perlite is used to hold moist within its self to keep your tub humid.

you will def need Verm tho.
i think you are actually lucky for not knowing about PF tek ... to be honest i think its a retarded way to start.
i suggest you doing the Damion 5050 Coir tek to grow.
its easy simple and u will end up with ALOT more fruit that what pf tek has to offer u.

Regarding to Verm not being in MD ... i have a shit load of verm and im willing to help a grower , grow.
if you are interested just pay shipping and i will send you 2 quarts of verm...no charge for verm it self...  i have a shitload and dont mind sharing (2 qts  is how much ull need for each tub if you decide to grow 5050 coir tek)
PM me and i shall help.

I get where you are coming from but i still have to disagree.  I see the pf tek as a tek that is easy to do and follow.  It has a little less room to mess up. Since you dont have to pasteurize your substrate.  Just sterilize, inoculate, colonize, fruit.  Where grain you have several extra steps sterilize, inoculate, colonize, pasteurize, spawn, colonize again, fruit.

That is 3 extra steps for error.  I guess what im saying is the pf tek is baby steps into this hobby and the yields are not that bad really.  When i did the pf tek i was getting 7g dry per flush (usually only did 2)  But Space wise bulk wins hands down for what it produces i wont argue that hehe. Anyway im done ranting and im sorry i did but hey its been a long day and i needed to get it out.

also you don't need a pressure cooker for PF tek grows.
