anybody know of any cool festivals/shows going on in southern california? Im new to the scene and I would love to experience something like that :]

Id be intersted to know as well ive never been to a festival as far as i know there arent many in SOCAL

Orange County I believe? Look it up.
There are lots of small things happening out there. You're going to have to look harder though probably. And talk to people at such events about other such events.

There are good one- or two-day events once in a while. Raves and such. HARD puts on shows here all the time.

found one!! Lightning in a Bottle in May. Its in silverado, and its only like a 50 minute drive from where I am... this even looks really cool and Im super stoked to possibly attend this. check it out!!

I found out about LIB just a few days ago! saw the video on their website and I loved it!! definitely getting my pass for this year. What I think is really cool is that its only about an hour drive from where I live and it isn't hyped up as much as coachella so the tickets aren't sold out already. Hope to see some of you guys there!! :]
