Spiritual Laws of Nature?
    #15802879 - 02/13/12 12:07 PM (3 months, 14 days ago)

Even if you hate the bible, and are a butt hurt kidiot in your 20's who hates Christianity, cant you at least agree there are SOME spiritual acts that should you partake in them (no matter what your faith, race, or backround)......bad things will happen to you in life and can negativly impact your conciousness?

Adultry
Lying
stealing
etc.

:psycow: How many psychedelic users — in any country — actually give
time to the local church soup kitchen, helping to feed the homeless and
hungry? How many of us, having had the experience, under the influence
of the visionary drugs, of seeing all human beings as incarnations of God,
have gone down to the local hospital to give affection and a listening ear to
lonely patients who need somebody to talk to? How many of us regularly
visit a jail, to provide spiritual and emotional support to confused, damaged
people who have grown up unloved, uneducated and unguided by their
confused, damaged parents

Sounds like it's directed at me. I commit all 7 sins, this is my religion.

"It is the "Devil" who caused women to show their legs, to titillate men - the same kind of legs,
now socially acceptable to gaze upon, which are revealed by young nuns as they walk about
in their shortened habits. What a delightful step in the right (or left) direction! Is it possible
we will soon see "topless" nuns sensually throwing their bodies about to the "Missa Solemnis
Rock"? Satan smiles and says he would like that fine - many nuns are very pretty girls with nice legs." -La Vey- Aka The Black Pope

Karma
Rebirth

these rhymes twist and wrap together in the way spirit and element interact. I keep my mind in motion like a train gains momentum when it goes of track, I want you to notice the commotion this is just a part of the magic potion new ways of focusing in noticing old wounds left open can now be stitched clean, no longer a heart forced into a machine. if this is a justification in favor of christianity, its quite general at best.

the thing is that i'm sure most all cultures/religions would agree on a base morality, regardless what mainstream or Pop culture religion you got yourself into.

do you think that those acts are "spiritual"?  am i being spiritual if i don't lie or steal from someone?  how does that impact my spirit more so than my conscience.  also, is it worth more to you to do right because it has been written and developed into a traditionalized idea or to be void of religion and developed for your own reasons to not steal, cheat, lie...etc?

You talked about 'spiritual' acts, and then just listed regular old immoral acts.  What is a 'spiritual act' supposed to be?

Spiritual booty call.

That's the fun of using vague, ill-defined terms - they can be applied to just about anything.

I think you may just happen to be wrong about this one.  In my opinion, morality and ethics are best left as an entirely situational thing.  There can be instances where any and all of the negative things you mention would be beneficial, or even necessary.  It's hard to come up with one for adultery, but there's always the old 'a super-villain has planted a supermassive explosive device in the earth's core and will blow up the planet unless...' scenario.  It's best not to limit your behavioral options with rigid, inflexible moral frameworks, particularly when the framework is a decrepit antique fashioned by moronic, control-obsessed priests concerned more with maintaining a sizable-enough flock of gullible chumps around to ensure they always get to live a cushy life of luxury and pederasty than with providing anyone with spiritual direction.

Sorry, but in my opinion christianity is unjustifiable.  It's great that millions use it to give their lives direction and meaning, I suppose, but the bible is one baby that I'm happy to throw out with the bathwater.

...stupid babies...

Don't worry, I'm wrong.

Lets just conclude that following religion will not lead to enlightenment.

I mean theres an off chance, I am not sure but best bet is science and spirituality (atleast from personal experience I achieved enlightenment through metaphysics, Satsang & Buddhism on magic mushrooms, This kinda just happened, not intentional while high on shrooms I just happened to have a interest in spirituality for the first time in my life).

I mean attacking concepts of metaphysics and satsang with a open mind is mind blowing.

Isn't Buddhism a religion? Isn't Satsang a term used in Hinduism, which is also a religion?

It was a latent term for the closed minded religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Or anything that has dogma and rituals.

I'll be more descriptive next time. Buddhism is more of a way of life (stated by Buddha himself), I don't like how people turned it into a religion and worship him as a deity.

I didn't know satsang was part of Hinduism. The more you know

Yeah man. Though you could say the same thing about Christ. What he taught was a way of life but then people started worshiping him.

Pretty much thats why I still look up to Jesus as a enlightened man with some wisdom and of course with the Judaism belief system structure and not a divine being.

Yeah, true that. And if you believe it full heatedly, it actually gets rid of your fears and anxieties to an extent. I had a very Christian friend sometime ago, and on his facebook profile he had a quote that said: "worry ends where faith begins."

repression can mean relief but for those strong enough to move through anxiety, seeing the world as it is, is far sweeter.

--------------------
"The man with the clear head is the man who frees himself from those fantastic ideas (the characterological lie about reality) and looks life in the face, realizes that everything in it is problematic, and feels lost. And this is the simple truth - that to live is to feel lost - he who accepts it has already begun to find himself, to be on firm ground. Instinctively, as do the shipwrecked, he will look round for something to which to cling, and that tragic, ruthless glance, absolutely sincere, because it is a question of his salvation, will cause him to bring order into the chaos of his life. These are the only genuine ideas; the ideas of the shipwrecked." - Ernest Becker
