Why do you do what you do?

What is your motivation?
I really want to know HOW and WHY my fellow shroomerites choose to live their lives. Details are not important, just your broad motivations and aspirations.
Do you follow a religious code? Are you trying to attain enlightenment? Fame? Wealth? The love of beautiful woman? Is life a void of meaningless chaos that is endured like a brief nightmare or is it a beautiful symphony of fathomless wonders?
Seriously though,
WHY do you do what you do?

I run on outrageous fear and desire.

I stick around because sometimes it's fun, and even when it's not I'm too scared to leave this life behind.

I want to make this earth a better place for all to live (of course inspired by my own conditions), mainly fighting against injustice, ignorance and narrow sight on all sides.

What are you wondering exactly? Most blatantly I'm dying and on my way towards death I want to have the least resistance possible, moving whichever way that takes me.

By what do you mean resistance? There are a few ways that could be taken. Physical or mental resistance? From other people or from within? Does that mean you avoid conflict in your personal life? What happens when something threatens your lifestyle, friends or family?

Why do you care? And how exactly do you go about fighting injustice, ignorance, and people with vision problems?

By resistance I mean suffering. From anywhere or anything. And what happens when I find suffering? I change my direction. Sometimes in doing so I find more suffering and so need to change direction again. It is visually represented in that picture. I cannot predict which way I will go and I can't see the specific obstacles until they arrive.

I guess it is my turn to contribute:
I am essentially selfish, as is everyone else. My main wish in life is to be happy. Being happy all the time is more difficult than it sounds, and I often get in my own way. Even so, I think I do a better job than most.
I recognize that there is a large amount of mental function that is out of my control. Emotions like anger, embarrassment, fear and arousal will affect me regardless of how logical they are. I don't let these impulses control me, but I do respect their power.
Proof or disproof of the afterlife is impossible. Either way, death should not be feared. I do, however, want to enjoy my life to the fullest before I pass.

death should not be feared.
I'd be careful with the "should" statements. Fear of death is likely to keep you alive in many instances.
