PF Cake Colonization Timing Question

On Monday I will be inoculating my 10 1 pint jars with some B+ spores. My question is for all of you experienced ones out there, how long would you estimate it will take for the mycelium to be 100% colonized in the jar? I know I can expect an exact answer but a round-about guess would be nice. I plan on keeping the jars at around 77-79 degrees and keeping it in near pitch black darkness. Will the colonization time be increased since I'm using 1 pint jars instead of 1/2 pint jars? And lastly, should I leave the inoculation holes open or closed with tape during colonization time?
Thanks

1 pint jars take longer to colonize and are prone to stalling. Besides 1/2 pint jars usually yield more. 1 pint jars take between 3 and 5 weeks to reach full colonization (but do not forget to wait at least 7-10 days after full colonization). Take the tape off after inoculation: You have a dry verm layer specifically designed to protect your sub from contaminants. I suggest you to watch these videos again and again.

thanks, yeah I figured that would be the case with 1 pint. I think I'm going out and try to find some 1/2 pint jars today, thanks for the help.
Peace.

If you inoculated on Monday then its been six days....From fresh spores you can expect to see germination within 3-4 days.
With older but hydrated spores its about the same give or take a day or three 3-7
But then again sometimes it can take as long as 14 days to see germination.

no need to, it will colonize fine with or without light.

That is wrong to some extent.
You want the jars to be kept in pitch black during germination/colonization
The biggest fruiting trigger is a drop in CO2 levels but if you expose your jars to light and somehow induce a drop in the co2, you will get early pinning.
And besides, I think RR is full of crap about the jars colonizing "normal" while being exposed to light. We all know that mycelium develops quicker without being exposed to a continuous light.

CMOS is 100% correct. Light can even be beneficial during the colonization stage.
@HybridprX: Now I see why you don't have a TC tag anymore. You always come up with this nonsense. Please stop spreading misinformation.

So some indirect light every now and then could be beneficial? How long would you want it to be in the light for at a time? I know you don't want any direct intense light on it at really any time but some soft indirect light is okay right?

Just put your jars on a shelf. A 12/12 hours light cycle is just perfect but any kind of light cycle will do. No need to keep them in total darkness. That is outdated info.

I got Prolly 50 pint jars that are doing fine with lights....total darkness is about like growing under a black light......mistakes

Misinformation?
I'd like to hear this from Paul Statements.
When mycelium germinates, its underground. It does not see light until it reaches the surface.
I left jars exposed to light and the development was significantly slower then the ones left in darkness.
The cultivator mimics nature, mycelium does not start out in light.
and cram that TC tag up your asses, Ive isolated, cloned and used every grain type imaginable. So oo.... yea, because I dont have a TC tag I dont know how to grow a cube? pffft, Whatever.
