One of my many pictures. (Photography)

Keep in mind I use an old 35 mm, Cannon EOS Rebel S. I worked my ass off to copy this correct, and it still didn't come out 100% how I wanted it. Plus, I was in a rush to develop a batch of some photos.

Well comments are always appreciated. Constructive Criticism is always welcomed.

Honestly? Meh. Look, it's a decent picture, but it doesn't really grab me. Some things that might have helped a bit: - a bit more depth of field - putting the focal point a bit closer to the camera - get rid of the twigs about halfway the composition; they are distracting. Other than that, the subject isn't very original or gripping

Switch to digital today. It'll shorten your learning curve and bring down operational costs. There's no valid reason to shoot 35mm film other than nostalgia.

Thanks for the advice!
I've been looking into digital cameras. What would you suggest?

Don't toss your old camera man......
Koraks may have an opinion, but it is not absolute truth. he seems way tto quick to instruct. Def get nice digital if you can make it happen, but don't completely toss your analog either. People in the proper art community love that shit, and it is ALWAYS good to know your fundamentals.
I am very experienced in the electronic music industry and have used digital equipment since the beginning(of my music career). 10 years later I am wishing VERY much so that I had gained knowledge and experience in analog much earlier on. I am left empty handed until I catch up with the old, which is an odd sensation.
It is my opinion, that when you understand analog, the shortcuts that digital gives you do not hinder your creativity!

This has potential to be a bad ass piece of art if you have photoshop. Make 3 copies, 2 of them mirror images, then piece them together edge to edge such that the trunk protrudes outward.
I played with it a bit. Looks cool.

Yes, yes, yes! My first camera was a 35mm. I started out with a 35mm. So I could get all my fundamentals, and knowledge of the art. I do think it's time I upgrade. But I will definitely never toss my old 35mms. I have 3.

there's a lot of reasons for keeping a film camera, many things you can do with one that cant be done with digital except in post production, there's also a certain feel that film gives to some photos that cant be reproduced with digital.
