Is everything ok?

This is my very first grow and am starting to worry a bit. Cakes have been in my SGFC for 8 days now and i still haven't seen any pinning. Mist 2-3 times daily and fan each time. I also have an oscillating fan in the room to allow better air flow. light is on a 12/12 cycle, keeping the RH around 90% and the temp around 76. So why is it taking so long or am i just being impatient now?

Did you wait a week after full colonization for the mycelium to consolidated its grip on the substrate?
If not dont worry it will just take an extra week or so to show sign of growth
i did the same thing it took about a week and a half to 2 weeks and then exploded.
Take a look at my journal for pics of hyphal knots and primadora thats the first thing you will see.

Did you let them Consolidate a good while after full colonization? If not, they'll just sit there about a week nomming on the rest of their food and consolidating anyway, as said above.
Several days consolidation is a minimum, RR officially recommends a week for the PF tek, and I among others suggest even longer if you can rustle up the patience and they aren't pinning in their jars. Waiting a long time helps get the WHOLE cake consolidated, not just the original growth areas, which WILL lead to more even and numerous pinsets. Also having spent lots of time consuming their food allows for the production of more secondary metabolizes - which include your alkaloids. Potency increase is likely.
Be patient, they'll fruit. Just keep these things in mind for the future.
PS: take a clone for your next grow - you'll be very glad you did!

Looks fully colonized to me.
Best thing is to just be patient keep misting/fanning i would try to get the humidity up to 95%-99%

i let them consolidate for about 10days. they were pretty slow to colonize so i let them sit a while longer before i dunked them. ok i'll see what i can do to raise it. would adding water directly to the perlite be acceptable?

My humidity actually just went down to 90% i got it back up by turning my light off misting more and fanning a little less, just mist the perlite around your cakes to rehydrate it. (the light makes the water on the perlite evaporate quicker)

right, i usually mist right after the light comes on, about midway through the cycle and then again right before the light cycle ends.

I wouldn't give up on it at all until it contaminates.
Work on giving it the optimal conditions for primordia, and if still no luck when it's been sitting there over a month, perhaps then.

Too low humidity, too low fresh air exchange, way low temperature.
If the air is comfy to you, it is to them also. You've got wet perlite going on there, so doubt it's the humidity.
I see no holes in your chamber. Your cakes are siting in stale air and building up CO2 until you come fan... Which will never be enough if you're the only thing supplying FAE. They can't breathe!
Turn your tote into a proper shotgun terrarium. It'll cover most of your fresh air, one or two fannings a day when called for will do the rest. It'll still keep the humidity up to 90-99% since your warm cakes put air out the top and sides, bringing new air in thru the perlite below which picks up moisture.
When you get a feel for it, you can try thugs such as pc fans, but without an idea of what kind of FAE is necessary but bottom much to kill your humidity and dry your substrates out, it's like riding a motorcycle with tricycle experience.
Again, build a shotgun fruiting chamber. It's the ultimate fruiting chamber for this sort of grow and is super easy and cheap - all you need to get there now is a drill.

humidity has been raised to 95% sorry, but 75-78 is optimal temps for growth i fan 2-3 times daily with a fan running fresh air through the room 24/7 so idk how you figure there's not enough AE yes there are 1/8in holes 1 in apart on every side of the box. i realize the pics are small, i'm working on fixing that tech problem(something about how i uploaded them too small to save room on my computer) so it may not be a "proper" SGFC but i still shouldn't have any problems.
