i never really understood why people want to watch movies/trippy stuff while tripping. your surroundings should be entertaining enough for you lol. i personally cant focus on movies or tv at all while tripping and when i try they just confuse me

Howling 2, the angles they shot the film at and psychedelic band Steve Parsons Project = Custom Made for tripping. The scene where the band plays the theme song with the trippy lights is awesome, everything somehow works masterfully while tripping. The color palette of the film was chosen well and creates breathing objects throughout. You have to have to turn the brightness down on the dvd so the dark scenes are really black. It was made back in the day of old TV's and VHS/BETA only, so it's a bit too bright on many TV's now. The movie makes no sense at all when sober or stoned, but when shrooming it all comes together as a tripping masterpiece 
I had rented the flick by chance and ran into my a batch of shrooms by chance. After tripping in my room for a few hours I thought why not put this on and it was epic 
Another fun movie to watch while tripping is Godzilla Final Wars

The movie Visioneers with Zach galifinakis is One earth shattering movie. Chronicle made me want to bitch slap my mother it was so good.

Watched American Beauty once on acid and it was even more amazing than watching it sober. Really got me thinking about some crazy shit about us humans.
But for the most part watching movies whilst tripping hard isn't very fun, it's better to just chill and listen to good music.
Fantasia is pretty knarly, though, also the amazing scenery scenes in The Tree of Life

i just got a 3d tv that uses side by side image. downloaded a bucnh of imax 3d nature movies. pretty awesome

This. The Coraline 3D blu-ray on a 3D television while tripping is one of the most amazing experiences a tripper can have. Period. I've seen a number of good "trip flicks" but Coraline blows them all pretty much out of the water.

Anyhow, when I was up in Wyoming during the winters there (was there for work), going outside during days/nights of 10 to 20 degrees below zero was a no go for obvious reasons. So I'd often trip inside and ended up watching a number of movies tripping.
- Dark City. 7 out of 10 trip rating IMO. Some mind blowing trip sequences in this film. Between freaking buildings shape shifting on their own and a scene where the main character walks through the city with every single person, literally, in the city asleep (see the movie ) -- it definitely rates up there as a trip movie for me.
- Fear & Loathing. 9 out of 10. Some people don't like it as a trip movie due to some of the mood the film gives off (Gonzo bathroom scene anyone?), I however do. It displays every single moment that a real trip can give a person. Euphoria, despair, paranoia...you name it and it's in here. A timeless classic IMO.
- Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. 6 out of 10. I'm sure some would have this rated higher, but this doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it tripping. I did. It's thought provoking and has a number of trippy scenes (my favorite is still the opening scene). Definitely worth a watch if you happen to be stuck inside during a trip.
- Bad Boys 2. 
Seriously. Let me explain. It's hilarious, and Michael Bay, love him or hate him, knows how to make an action scene glisten without being cheesy. Some of the action sequences are absolutely incredible and left me in awe when I was tripping. It probably wouldn't be recommended to some though due to the violence, and it's definitely an off the wall trip pick. But I saw it while tripping and thoroughly enjoyed it. 6 out of 10 for me.
- Coraline in 3D. 10 out of 10. To me, it's unbeatable in this category. In its own stratosphere. Don't believe me? Watch it while tripping and tell me otherwise. And I mean the 3D disc on a 3D television (the way it's meant to be seen).
- Planet Earth series. Any of them -- but I'd rate the Jungles & Caves episodes as the best of the lot. It's as close to nature as you can get without actually being there. 9 out of 10.
And let me add in how important it is to watch these in HD or blu-ray...it makes a huge difference. Huge. Seeing the crispness and perfection of HD quality viewing compared to non-HD...I mean it's night & day. And especially noticeable while dosed on some mushrooms.

Agreed. I can't pay attention to movies worth a damn while I'm tripping. My mind is just all over the place. The video just ends up being a visual stimulus which annoys me after a while cause it constantly changes on its own and it won't let me observe it more closely before moving to the next frame.
