 Extreme headache during the onset of MDMA

About a week ago, I met this amazing dealer who has some of the purest MDMA in town. We bought 19 250 mg gel caps and they were white with a slight brownish tint that is really hard to notice. I took two caps that night, the effects were amazing and I had a really good time but that doesn't mean there weren't negative effects. When the very first effects hit me when I was sitting in the passenger seat of my friends car, I experienced an agonizing headache that lasted for about 5-10 minutes which made me think I was having an intense migraine or something and faded away once the effects set in. My friend Jesse, who took two or three of the same caps had this same exact head ache. I can only describe it as a migraine happening at the back of my head, feeling as if my veins were going to explode or I was having a cluster head ache or something.
I had an amazing high because once those five minutes were over I was rolling really hard and had a great night with my friends. Two others, who also took the same caps experienced none of this but had some tolerance and had no idea what we were both talking about. Even though this head ache happened for a short period of time and went away as quickly as it came, the next day my head was kind of hurting and even today I took an advil because I sort of feel like shit. Is this head ache a common symptom with MDMA? I am very certain this is good stuff, so perhaps the intensity of the experience brings more negative effects since it is working harder on my brain. You be the judge, tell me if you think this is normal or some other drug was laced in the powder and is dangerous for my health.

mdma is often cut with some other substance (cant remember the name) that makes people feel very uncomfortable ie head aches and soreness. you prob got 3/4 straight mdma and 1/4 the other shit.

If you took the mdma orally then it sounds like it had to be cut with something...
I have snorted mdma though that I'm pretty sure was atleast almost all pure and got a headache but I think that was just from the intense burn from snorting it straight to the dome lol.
Sounds to me like your shit is cut makes sense to if they are in capsules for some reason all the mdma I've gotten in capsules has always been cut majorly I don't know why.

Should I be worried? Having headaches seems dangerous, especially from a possibly unknown substance.

I wouldn't be worried.... If the headache only lasted like 5-10 minutes then it wouldn't alarm me at all this has happend to me a lot on drugs like mephedrone but once the headache goes away I have a blast. I just think it has something to do with the way the drug sets in but I'm not sure.
All I know is if you had an amazing time on it then why be worried over a 5 minute headache? I get random headaches all the time...

I never get headaches and this one was really intense and concerning. If it was any stronger I would have freaked the fuck out.

actually, the worst side effect i've had on a substance was while trippin' on Bitter Cactus. i had an extreme (but still remote, yay mesc) headache for a solid 4 or 5 hours. i think it may just be an effect of the amphetamine nature of phenethylamines (sp?), to which MDMA also belongs. also, as mentioned above, pretty much all molly/x on the street is cut somehow

I've had an extreme headache that persisted for atleast 5 hours after snorting and orally taking a bunch of 2c-e and 2c-i but I think I may of did to much lol. But those are also in the class of mdma to I think so hm.

i wouldn't be worried just know that like 90% of so called ecstacy is cut with somthing or other- or is pure shit.. be careful but more importantly have fun
--and for the substance they put in that gives you head aches (as i said forgot the name) its harmless it just makes you uncomfortable

hate reading that shit. guess it happens though
anyway.. you took like a half G of mdma at once? To be honest that seems a bit much, if it's good mdma 250mg should be plenty to start.
In my experiences, I've had a lot of good times on lower doses of GOOD mdma (between 120-200mg) and anything over 200mg just kind adds more speediness and teeth grinding and eye wiggles and jaw clenching. But IMO you get all the euphoria and happiness you need at just like 150-200mg.
I remember dosing solo once, just one dose, 120mg crystal. None of the discomfort from the higher doses, but still plenty of energy and happiness and euphoria present.
If it's legitimate, taking 500mg at once is quite a bit and I wouldn't be that surprised if you experience more side effects. Maybe just try a slightly lower dose to start next time and see where that puts ya, and then bump it up after that if it doesn't feel like enough.

My guess is he was sold bath salts as mdma, happens all the time. If you took a half gram of REAL, LEGIT, mdma.... (without a HUGE tolerance) then you would probably be SERIOUSLY discombobulated!

All that powder was in two gel caps and the gel caps were less than half way full of powder so the weight might be a little exaggerated.

OP - Are you accustomed to high doses of MDMA?
If that was your first high dose ever then it's possible you had too much serotonin enter your synapses at the same time, causing mild serotonin syndrome. You probably have some sort of tolerance to MDMA though and the flood may have cleared out quickly enough to not be detrimental to your experience after the initial rush.
It could be any number of things though and you probably won't be able to pinpoint it. I'm just giving you another possible viewpoint so don't take that as fact. Just know that high doses of MDMA or any potent serotonin releasing agent, especially without a tolerance, can be dangerous and neurotoxic.
