Just read this quote, what do you think?

"Knowledge is a bottomless pit. Absolute truth leads only to ignorance."

That's a groovy and hep cat quote me brudder. I think:confused:

--------------------

“What is the ideal for mental health, then? A lived, compelling illusion that does not lie about life, death, and reality; one honest enough to follow its own commandments: I mean, not to kill, not to take the lives of others to justify itself.”
― Ernest Becker

"Beneath the civilized veneer, man remains the supreme predator. Cursed with what he believes is understanding, his true soul blossoms godlike in the heart of the nuclear inferno."

Here's another one:

"Believe those who are seeking Truth. Doubt those who find it."

I would amend it to say "The search for the absolute truth leads only to ignorance."  As it is, the quote doesn't really make sense.

What that statement means to me may not be what it means to anyone else, including the writer.

What is knowledge?

What is a bottomless pit?

What is absolute truth?

What is ignorance?

There are numerous connotations to these words, and more thoughts about those connotations, and thoughts about those thoughts, etc etc.

At the moment my cat is licking my screen.

Maybe I got food on my monitor...

Or maybe I sneezed on it and he likes the taste of that...

Or maybe the screen picks up a flavor from being in different places...

...?

Knowledge is a limited perspective and understanding of the universe and its content.

Wisdom is also limited to a perspective but comes close to absolute truth.

What is it? The capacity of our brain which uses logic and reason to base information.

Absolute truth is not possible for our brain in my opinion so it is ignorance to think so.

But theoretical absolute truth would mean that it is infallible.

My absolute truth is Love.
