Traveling around the world - where to go?

I'm thinking an asian country this time. Last summer I spent the world cup in Amsterdam, and although I could buy pot and shrooms in shops, that was way overwhelming.
This year I want to give international travel another try, but I think maybe going to an okay place as an american might not be so bad, right? Im going to spend a week in a hotel somewhere, or hop on some fancy cruise ship, and honestly I'd rather hit a nice communist country with my feet running.
I'm not scared so much territorial, it's kind of just boiling down to where I would have the most fun, by myself. Noone I know cares to afford leaving the country, so I will be traveling alone.
Your ideas? Its about the same to travel to Japan / Bangkok / etc. South Kotea even runs about the same ball park.
I just remember everyone in Amsterdam being so hostile, especially when they knew I was a US person. Asian culture is traditionally cool, and will work with drugged up white people like me, right? Or does anyone with experience have any nay say country wise? I was really disappointed with Amsterdam, I want to make this experience blow life away.
Please advise.

I'm avoiding layovers in foreign counties like the plague if I can as well, I had a layover twice in Iceland, and I was search intrusively twice - once in Iceland by guards holding AK-47's just tearing my backpack apart, asking me everything about it.
Once I finally got to Dam, if I spoke english to anyone that was not charging money to talk to them, I would get instant ignored. It sucked.

Japan is safe, clean and the people are polite. If they don't like you then they will just get all passive aggressive about it and probably bitch about you later.
Thailand is always good value for money and lots of westerners go there for a good time. Check out Phuket. You could also check out the full moon parties. If you want to get fit and learn some self defense or fighting skills then you could do a kick boxing course while you're there.
Bali is party island in Indonesia. The island of Bali is mainly Hindu as opposed to the rest of Indonesia which is Islamic so it will be more relaxed. Also, English is spoken widely because lots of Australian tourists go there.
Singapore is a small city state that you can check out and everyone speaks English since it was colonised by the British. It's clean and safe.
You could also check out Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang etc)
Just remember that a lot of Asian countries have the death penalty for drugs and possession of small amounts can get you a life sentence in an overcrowded dirty prison cell. However, places such as Bali have mushy shakes on the menu at places and you can find them in piles of shit in Thailand.
Also, native English speakers can go to Asia to teach English. Some places will let you stay for free and in exchange you speak English to students etc. Other places will pay you a wage. Each country is different and the kind of deal you get will depend on if you have qualifications or not.

That was exact;y what I was looking for, thank you
The only drugs I need to take is xanax that I have a script bottle with a label worn down to an unreadable nature, and another script of dog shit.
It really does seem, unfortunately, that people in the EU are fucked. I got searched on the way in and out, again, once by a guard holding a machine gun.
If you could suggest a region, where would you go? The xanax are coming with me in a descrete bottle, so if they lock people up for that I'm flying to jail. You seem familiarized with traveling. I was thinking South Korea cause its so US its not hardly Korea,
Then I reached back to my Dam journey, and I did not use shit for life skills, I just got ridiculously high and drunk every night. People there were fucking rude to say the lest, the one time I spoke english it was with a canadian outside my hotel for like 5 minutes.

Asia is generally good value for money. You could also try Hong Kong. It was also a British colony and a financial hub so there'll be lots of English spoken there.
I don't know too much about South Korea but there are lots of Americans there because of the bases. I love reading about the whole North and South Korea political/war situation though.
I know some people who went to Vietnam and Cambodia but they didn't like it. It was too dirty, poor and corrupt for their liking.
In regards with taking your drugs with you, most countries are fine as long as you bring a doctor's note with you. You might want to double check with the country that you're visiting though just to be sure. I can't imagine a benzo being too bad although I believe my friend threw out her bottle of dexamphetamine before going through Dubai. She has a prescription for it because of a sleeping disorder but I think it could have still been illegal there. Either way, she didn't want to risk going to jail for it but amphetamines are a lot different from other drugs.
Get some Lonely Planet travel guides which will help you with various things such as phrases, places to go to and to avoid, cultural behavior etc. Tourists can be so dumb. In Thailand you'd see fat old western tourists driving around everywhere in their bathers or even go to temples in similar things. It's stupid and disrespectful. You wouldn't drive around most places in your bathers in your own country or visit a church in your bathers.
The American dollar used to be really good and you would've had an awesome exchange rate in Australia but not so much now. If you go to New Zealand then you'll have a good exchange rate. It's a clean place and they speak English (well, they think they do =P ) but there's awesome adventure tourism there.
If you're keen on going to Australia then you can do a thing called the 'harvest trail'. Quote "Harvest Trail links job seekers with harvest jobs Australia wide. It offers a great way for people to travel around Australia at their own pace while working and earning money." People can also use this to extend their visas whilst they're in Australia because the farmers can't find enough workers so the government allows people to stay longer if they do some farm work.
