Yup, Jew's ear. Tasty: no, but the texture is nice.

my sister emailed me the pic so I do not know the type of the tree.

Ha, yeah, I was surprised to see Boletus edulis on there, paints a different picture of the place. :sun:

not so common but you can find it in the north of Israel.

I did a video of the wood near my home. you can see it in HD 720P or 1080P

I would expect auricua-judae to be common around there, considering it's named after Judas. :smile:

I haven't seen them growing on anything but dark elder around here, but the tree in the picture is really thick for one.
