 Georgia Guidestones, Rosicrucianism, and Paulo Coelho

While researching the Georgia Guidestones, I ended up reading about the alchemical order of "Rosicrucianism." They have an esoteric motto, preserved by one of their legendary members, Christian Rosenkreuz, which goes: VITRIOL: "Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Invenies Occultum Lapidem ("Visit the Interior Parts of the Earth; by Rectification Thou Shalt Find the Hidden Stone.").
I realized that in one of Paulo Coelho's books, "Veronika Decides to Die," the main psychiatrist in the story is trying to publish his grand theory though he has little evidence for it. The substance he claims is the very life force inside of all people is called Vitriol.
It's so deliciously fascinating to me when I stumble upon new information that ties things together. It's not a matter of discovering some secret society plot, but just acknowledging streams of thought and seeing who influenced who. Robert Anton Wilson, as another example, intentionally embeds all sorts of references to mystics, hermetic orders, conspiracies, etc. but he does so usually with intention and direction. Whereas Coelho just dropped this one in passing.

i first read about the rosicrucians in focaults pendulum by umberto eco. dense book....i like how they just sort of, left their pamphlets around town
