how i dropped 15lb like it was nothing * 2
    #15789372 - 02/10/12 04:12 PM (3 months, 17 days ago)

first off the main changes that happened were that i cut out meat/dairy. that stuff is just disgusting once u understand what it does in the body

i started eating a LOT more food, basically focusing on drastically upping my intake of healthy carbohydrates, and drastically lowering my intake of fat/protein

i feel amazing. i haven't been this light in a few years now. and i will eat 3000+ calories a day oftentimes. i'm energetic, light, and the best part is that i feel amazing. i don't even have close to the amount of access to fresh produce i want right now as it can get expensive, so i can't even imagine what will happen when i do

i stepped on my buddies scale last night and i was 160. with my shoes, coat, cell phone, wallet, keys, etc.

not too long ago i was 175, it was literally less than a month ago, probably more like a few weeks.

just saying it can happen and it's extremely easy. i still have my muscle. the main things i've learned are that it is essential to avoid high fat meals and for me. that entails every single type of meat and dairy product. i will not feel so good if i eat too many nuts or seeds in one sitting

i hope all of your guys' and gals' wildest dreams come true!

first off i'd like to say i think it is amazing that you went from drug addiction to ultimate health in such a short time frame. i know two people who struggle with addictions they can not overcome. i agree with you that most people seem to seriously overdo it when it comes to proteins and fats and people would be surprised at the quality of complete protein you can reach by balancing/blending foods. it takes awhile for muscle loss to occur in a malnutrition state as fat usually goes first before the body begins to cannibalize itself.  i've reduced my calories down to about 1800-1900 per day now and i still weigh 205 pounds at 6'2".  i can not lose weight to save my life and I'm now running 3-5 miles per day now, depending how lazy i am and whether i do plyometrics or lift as well as other life activities.  and why can't the body adapt to a low fat diet i say? i mean evolution has to start somewhere, right? why not start with you and others like you because as you adapt and have children their genes may carry the necessary markers of a low fat eater as we are what we eat they say, we are meaning genes that is. we are our genes. you eat a lot of bananas, right? bananas and salads are great for you, they are great for anyone as an banana a day keeps the doctor away they say. i love seeds and nuts though, although some nuts need to be avoided completely but I'm sure you know which ones i'm talking about. isn't it amazing how in tune we can get with our bodies if we just listen?  i mean yours is telling you it doesn't like nuts and seeds...

as far as losing fifteen pounds in a few weeks, few implying three, this is really amazing book material man.  especially when you consider you are eating 3000 calories per day because an average active individual needs to cut 500 calories from their diet each day in order to lose one pound per week according to some of the things I've read and what has been said here and in other forums. you've averaged a five pound loss on a 3000 calorie per day diet intake.  you have to be extremely active to achieve these results, i'm giving you mad props for this!  either that or you simply are not absorbing calories properly, but you know your body better then anyone so I'm assuming you are extremely active. just imagine how much weight you've really lost when you consider the fact that my shoes, coat, cell phone, wallet, keys and etc. have to weigh at least five to six pounds. the weight of my winter jacket alone is between four and five pounds easy, so in effect you may really be averaging more like six to seven pounds per week.  i'm looking forward to a report on how you are doing two to three months from now. at this pace, you are going to be ripped slim bones.

thanks for the well wishes as all of my wildest dreams and then some have already come true and there is much more to come i feel deep down if you know what i mean...

im a dairy farmer, i drink and eat plenty of milk and meat im 5'9 160lbs slim and energetic (mostly).

Milk and meat are both good for you if your getting them from the proper source, ie; the cow that is fed its natural food.

anyway whatever works for you, there is 1000 different diets to lose fat and feel better, even though its pretty damn simple.

Kensho, buddy, you might benefit from high wieght low reps work outs at the gym. I have been doing this for the past few weeks and I've lost well over 10 pounds, easy.

Also, you might benefit from a high protein intake as well.

I recommend hemp protien powder, in particular hemp pro 70 from manitoba harvest. This protien doesn't have fiber in it, which is good for someone who probally eats lots of fiber already.

Right now all my reps are low and high intensity, workout average 30-45 minutes and its been the fastest wieght loss I've ever had.

I'm a big fan of moderation in the red meat/dairy category and making sure that they're natural grass fed.  Free range chickens.  No corn, hormones, etc

this is awesome and one target information although i'm not really interested in eating more then 100 grams of protein per day because the established requirements for an active male are barely 60-65 grams per day.  i honestly don't believe a body builder let alone a training athlete needs more then 125 grams per day based on solid evidence...  but as far as hemp goes, i've never really heard anyone here recommend it but you nailed it, it is really turning out to be the best form of protein... very cool man. i'm not looking to loose any weight though to be honest, my point was that even though i've restricted calories for now i've been able to maintain at 205 at 6'2" for better then a half a year or more and i rarely fluctuate more then a pound as my transit rate is on the quick side.  he's eating 3000 calories and losing 5-6 pounds per week!  i do have free weights but rarely use them because i picked up a relatively new boflex from an ex wife who was selling everything her husband owed for squat! i picked up a new boflex for 800 dollars.  i'm seriously questioning the the actual weight claims of the power rods though, in other words i honestly don't believe that 100 pounds on rod resistance is actually 100 pounds of weight resistance but it's still a work out.  if i had an easy curl bar though i'd use free weights more often for bi and tri's...

plus there's an older gym in my area that was just purchased by planet gym, which is some kind of franchise setup and they are having a special for a 6 week trial membership, so i'm figuring it's worth the small fee of $29 to check it out and have my body mass tested since they are offering a complete analysis since i'm not really sure how to accurately calculate it on my own but i assure you i'm really very lean.  they also give you three free sessions with a trainer which would be cool to establish a routine for my personal goals which doesn't include gaining any mass.  and they have a sauna and steam room which would be cool to use for the month and a half at least as i've read there are many good things regarding eliminating toxins. i don't use antiperspirants, i use only a natural deodorant and when i first started about a year ago my armpit odor was horrendous and i discovered it was because i was toxic and the body tries to eliminate in many ways including the skin and armpit via the lymph system. today when i sweat, which isn't too often my armpit odor is basically odorless now and i truly believe it has a lot to do with focusing on lymphatic health through running, jumping drinking tons of water and eating well.  to me, based on what i've learned over the past year is the lymph system is critical to maintain yet everyone seems to ignore it. all this for 30 bucks? what did charlie say? winning!!!

again man good information you just put out there and i'm glad the low rep high intensity thing is working for you because you're not the first person who has said this to me, how well this works that is...  and i will seriously look into this particular protein powder, i'm hoping i can find it on eBay as i'd like to start working on my purchase/selling count which is at 504 right now... i love eBay... my health food store tried to sell me a very cool probiotic months ago at $48.00 and i found a supplier on eBay for the same probiotic for less then half the price.  i realize the health food store has overhead but 100% higher in cost?  comon man...

and at killsme...  i agree with this statement 100% but grass fed cattle are an extremely rare breed...  there was a family farm that used to raise and slaughter buffalo meat when i ate meat and it was shut down by the USDA but after years of struggle they are reopen after battling it out.  that meat was not only delicious it was extremely healthy but there is so much shit in our factory farm meat it's scary and i'll never drink dairy that is allowed to have maximum allowable amounts of hormone, antibiotic and PUSS limits... wasn't this nice of our government to look out for us by establishing the maximum allowable limits of this shit, puss and the rest of this shit? this shouldn't be in our food which was one of the factors that drove me way from eating meat and dairy.  whole, unpasteurized milk is awesome from what i'm reading but the FDA and USDA are shutting down distributors on a weekly basis...  it's very legal to drink it but it's against the law to sell it!!!  perverse interpretation of our rights to buy and use the way we want...  one of my best buds is coming over tonight with 25 pounds of vacuum sealed tuna that is less then two months old for my brother in law and to be quite honest i'm friggin' tempted to keep a pound or two and CHEAT on my diet as i've always loved sushi, and this is sushi grade cut he's bringing over... we'll see, if i decide to cheat i'll fess up!!! anyway, i don't want this to come off as some type of rant as some people can't tolerate my posts...

No problemo, its nice to know that I've helped you considring that you know so much about health in general, although I probally have a very similair perspective on health. I do 80% raw fruits/vegg/nut diet.

One final word on the hemp protein. The major problem with hemp is that it contains ALOT OF FIBER. Like serious amounts. There is almost as much fiber as there is protein in it for exmaple.

Thats why I suggest Manitoba harvest hemp pro 70. Its a powder that has the fiber 100% removed. It thus has a lot better flavour, as well and it won't constipate you very much, which is has the tendency to do because it is such a huge portion o fiber in one meal.

Few months back I just started cutting carbs out like it was a poison.
I was 398-402 depending on time of day and meals eaten.
Took out bread, rice, pasta, beans and anything related... (tortilla, crackers, chips)
Those were my main meals all the time didn't realize Til I quit em. With in a week I lost 10lb and now I'm pushing 110lb it was nuts to get in the 200's breaking that made me happier than hell.
I havnt exercised, I devour meat whenever it's around and occasionally go off my diet.
It's really easy to eat right, now I just gotta exercise and start eating fruits and veggies.
Bet I get down another 60 fasttttt

iv never had colostrum lol, we feed it too our calves. Its extreamly rich in antibodies, vitamins and minerals which supposed to help the calf survive basically for the first couple of days then the mother will start producing normal milk. Iv heard that we cannot absorb the colostrum like the calves are able to, but this may be bs.

Actually not just grass fed cows are good for you, we feed our cows grass in the summer because they go outside but in the winter they have to get dry hay/ silage/ oats and some supplement to help them produce enough. The raw milk that i drink is delicious and good for me, i dont think as highly as the milk they pasteurize and sell at the super market. But milk itself has fat/protein/carbs which is great if you are bulking, if ur not just dont drink tons of it, a glass a day.

Also organic milk is bs. We treat our cows when they get sick, we then throw out the milk until the withdrawal time is over, we do not ship milk that has been treated with antibiotics or else we get fined heavily, nor can any other Canadian farmer. Organic milk is no better then regular milk.

I've just come back from shoulder surgery and in the last 6 weeks I've gained 12lbs from working out.  I eat all lots of meat and drink a ton of milk, and I think it's helping me a ton.  I guess it depends what your goals are.

I'm now 6'1" 187, looking to get up to 205-210 by this time next year.

Use the coupon code: GOOP2011 and COTE2011 to get a 15% discount. It might still work.

Tell me you think that sugar products like coke/juices(unatural) are things you have also cut out!!

If not, get ready to loose a shit ton of weight!!

Yeah I was mainly getting at cows that aren't fattened as fast as possible on corn.  And I wish I had access to unpasteurized milk, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to sell.  I try to stick to soy/almond/rice alternatives when I go to the supermarket.  Gonna have to wait until I get my own cow for the good stuff, haha
