I know some Israelis who have gone to Laos and enjoyed it. Like most other places in SE Asia though, you will more than likely be hanging around other white folks in your same socio-economic demographic and using the locals as service people, telling small stories to yourself that you are hardcore traveling. It's just the nature of the beast.
