Philosophical Research Society University of Philosophical Research Id just like to share this with all the Shroomery. Ive been reading many of the books and pamphlets by Manly Hall for the past few years and im working on my under grad so I could apply for the UPRS and study in Transformational Psychology.
Founded by Manly P. Hall, you may know him best for writing 'The Secret Teachings of All Ages' He was teaching Freemasons things they had no idea about before he was 25.
This is like a modern day Library of Alexandria. It has thousands of books from occultism and esocericisim to Quantum mechanics and chemistry. Kabbalah Alchemy Psychology Comparative Mythology Gnosticism Platonism and much more Wisdom of Classical Philosophy
Wisdom of Kabbalah
ENJOY

I keep my mind in motion like a train gains momentum when it goes of track, I want you to notice the commotion this is just a part of the magic potion new ways of focusing in noticing old wounds left open can now be stitched clean, no longer a heart forced into a machine. Because if the genetic codes know how to make biologic matter grow then I guess past problems don't mater .

Manly Hall basically uncovered and brought forth the esoteric teachings of all ages, to modern man. Before he started talking in depth about the beliefs of the eastern world the west brushed off things like Hinduism and Buddhism as primitive tribal mumbo jumbo instead of a complex religion.
crazy stuff.

What's the difference between old philosophers and new philosophers? I don't see how we can gain from these guys there just as smart as anyone of us, right? Difference problems different solutions.

more modern philosophy seems more materilistic while the older philosophy has more consciousness/spirit in it. IMO

You might want to put more care in where you buy your education than where you buy your food.
They seem like they are peddling wisdom to me. I'm not sure what exactly they teach, although anything as vague as "Transformational Psychology" has got to be something for a certain group of people to use and enjoy for themselves. As far as inspiring your own light of reason within you and bringing you to a higher state of consciousness, I doubt it will happen.
Their site looks like a blog.
A philosophy degree even from an accredited institution is not going to get you too much to stand on in life on its own. I can say this with some insight because I have one.
I think it is important to see that these "wise men" were people just like you or I, and that we are, right now, observing the same world they did, and that we all can navigate this world for ourselves with as much wisdom as they did. And we don't even need to have fame or cult popularity.
Sorry if you really care about this shit.

IMO one of the best things you've ever posted here.

I'm extremely skeptical of this
This building doesn't bring anything new into the Philosophical world, man was never even created equal in the beggining.
I happen to own a very vast Antique Book collection, You'd probably learn more studying Socratic Dialouges, Classical poets and other various Philosphers then this guys work.
Need to learn WW2? How about you read some of Winston Churchills work? Random occult? How about A Mind On Two Worlds? Nobody ever thinks about, Need to learn about Philosophy, durr Manly Palmer Hall. Probably a good reason for that.
It's much easier to do your proper research, ask a couple of specialists in the topics you are attempting to research then going to this.
I'm going to wager a couple things - Nobody who has any specialization in philosophy would even consider this seriously - Palmer Hall left Canada on unfriendly terms - From a quick scan of the side books, most of his idealogies have already been written about by better authors, ( Or much more credible)

This is spot on.

By Thomas S. Jones, Jr.
Across the fields of yesterday
He sometimes comes to me,
A little lad just back from play–
The lad I used to be.
And yet he smiles so wistfully
Once he has crept within,
I wonder if he hopes to see
The man I might have been.

One word: PRACTICALITY. And this advice from someone who dropped pre-medical studies for degrees in philosophy and theology from well-established, accredited universities. Not until I took a Ph.D. in human development education with a clinical psychology minor, from another accredited university, could I find any relevant employment. Even then, the state of Florida in which I reside would not allow me to become a clinical psychologist. I had to make a career as a Masters level mental health counselor.
RECOMMENDATION: Get into the best established university that you can, and specialize later, like Psychoanalysts and Analytical and Transpersonal Psychologists do. The subject matter you are fascinated with, represents the top of the Maslowian Hierarchy of Needs, but you need to meet your survival and belongingness (professional organizations) as a foundation upon which to build a pyramid, the cap of which is self-actualization.

I took a different route to success. I "cut off the soles of my shoes, climbed a tree, and learned to play the flute".

this sounds like carl jungs book collection RECTOS DOMINOS
-------------------- "The man with the clear head is the man who frees himself from those fantastic ideas (the characterological lie about reality) and looks life in the face, realizes that everything in it is problematic, and feels lost. And this is the simple truth - that to live is to feel lost - he who accepts it has already begun to find himself, to be on firm ground. Instinctively, as do the shipwrecked, he will look round for something to which to cling, and that tragic, ruthless glance, absolutely sincere, because it is a question of his salvation, will cause him to bring order into the chaos of his life. These are the only genuine ideas; the ideas of the shipwrecked." - Ernest Becker
