I live with my parents and they have finally kicked me out. I have $500 cash and a car. Any tips on living in your car or ways to survive?

Parents never liked me. I turned 18 so they could legally throw me out. They told me not to come back last night and now I'm at a friends house.

call the shelters. Even if you stay in your car, they offer free lunches. You should eat them and save your money, plus while you are there, ask them for help.

LOL your parents "don't like you?" They raised you from birth until the age of 18 and they don't like you?

I just never got along with them. I don't talk to them I just used their house as shelter.

Join the Army. They will feed you, clothe you, give you a home, teach you a skill, and pay you while they do all this. Being a soldier is safer than being homeless, IMHO.

How many soldiers die in combat each year? Even in a bad year, not many. Now, how many homeless people die from cold, hunger, mugging, disease? I'd take my chances in the Army.
Plus, guns! Big ones!

I suggest buying 2 oz of nuggets. Go to a jam show and make some $$. Might as well hop on tour at that point.

Living in your car for a while is alright, but it gets old after a while. Having a friend's place where you can shower and do laundry once in a while is a huge bonus. If you aren't planning on getting a job anytime soon so you can afford a room of your own, you should probably invest in a small camp stove and a bunch of really cheap bulk foods or you're gonna find out how much food can cost.
Lots of places will get mad at you for parking there overnight. Schools, malls etc. will usually have security that will come around and wake you up. I think wal mart lets you sleep there, but there are often people around and they have bright lights in the lot. Try to find a quiet residential area if you don't live in too big of a city.
Depending on how big your car is/how tall you are your back is gonna start getting really sore. Honestly, it's nice not having a job, but it's the winter right now. Get a job and as inexpensive of a room as you can find and try to save enough to live off in the summer while you sort out what you want to do for the next few years.
Orrr you could blow all the money in a month getting drunk and high and going to shows while staying on your buddies couch and then beg your parents to let you come back.

I'm only 5'5 so my car isn't going to be an issue. Is it legal to sleep on residential streets? I don't live in the city.

I'm pretty sure that they have to evict you and cant just throw you out. I would check into it think they have to give you a 30 day notice. That would atleast give you a little time to think.

One time I found myself on the street with $20 to my name so I got a hair cut and walked into an employment agency who shipped me out to a resort in the Poconno mountains in Pensylvania. When that job ended there was another a few miles down the road. There always seemed to be a vacancy for a waiter, dishwasher or gardener, room and board included.

Browsing that link I somehow found my way to the Peace Corps website and realized they go to other continents besides Africa. I've always wanted to go to Eastern Europe and they have a few countries they do over there. Ukraine is one of them and somewhere I've always wanted to visit/possibly live. Do you or anyone here happen to know about this program and if it's worth joining? I have nothing going for me in life and this sounds awesome.
