because you think you'll get something out of it, or doing something just for the joy of doing it. Which one do you do? Which one causes the problems?

Yeah man. I'm getting better at spotting when I'm doing something out of fear instead of out of love. It can be a fine line sometimes.

I notice a slight difference. I think when I'm saying doing something just for the joy of it, it's sort of spontaneous, like a child playing. They don't think if I play, then I get joy, etc. I think joy and spontaneousness go hand in hand. Though sometimes I think, 'I'll do this for the joy!' then get no joy out of it. It's not that you get joy... Good question though. Hope I made that clear.

it did, and perhaps this is a good example, or perhaps not, but here:
i enjoy looking at the clouds. i look at them to experience the joy i get from them. but every now and then the clouds do soemthing funny and i get a spontaneous overwhelming sense of joy that i didnt know i was going to experience.
thank you for the clarification, even if i mis-interepreted what you were trying to convey, i still obtained a new perspective from what i analyzed in your explanation.

I like to do something that gives me joy, but also gives me new knowledge or a different perspective from someones point of view. It is hard for me to enjoy something when I can't see that is adding to me in more ways than just entertainment. It is like movie for joy or documentary for knoledge and joy, well documentary is a better choice to direct my focus to.
I ponder for joy mostly. I am a day dreamer, but I am sure that isn't a surprise.

I'm a major daydreamer. When I was a kid I would just lay in my room watching the movies of my mind for hours. Shit was sweet. Ah, the good ol' days.

reminds me of when i was a kid - my favourite part of the day was lying in bed in the dark at night and exploring all my thoughts and imagination and such

Seems like like you were pretty gifted experiencing both day and night at the same time. lol 
Damn, I read that completely wrong and joke is on me for bad reading comprehension and taking day as in daylight, and not as a whole 24 hours.

thank you for the welcome! im new to psychadelics in general. and everyone in this community seems to be very knowledged. i hope to learn alot here and also share some insight that i am find along my journey to discovering myself and my world around me.
im just an observer. and thats what brings me the most joy i guess. :p

I do neither so neither has the potential to cause a problem
Even if you do things for the joy of them, one day that joy will not be there, and there will be a problem
As long as one is identified as a 'doer' they will come into problems, its inevitable

Maybe that was a bit serious, in the vein of your thread, of course act out of the sheer joy of acting, just know you are acting, expect no real substantial fruits in return for your acting, it is a play, play!
