i think this is more likely to happen at higher doses than most people usually take...like around 4-5 g.

You may experience a new way of thinking while under the influence. This does not necessarily mean the message came from the mushroom...

Erowid has a MAPS article where they found that high doses of psilocybin result in an experience of "the logos". They said it occurs in like 80% of people who take doses of 9 g or higher. That's kind of unscientific though, as 9 grams from one batch/strain will vary from 9g from the next. But they also mentioned that the 80% that experienced hearing the logos were found to be the spiritually oriented individuals when surveyed. E.g. these were the people that said they believed in a creator and prayed etc. So the ones who believe in God receive messages from the divine when high enough doses of psilocybin are ingested.

the ones who don't believe in god may experience the exact same thing, but you'd never know because they wouldn't report communing with the divine, they would call it something else

Yes. Every time I have gotten messages explicitly from somewhere outside of myself during the experience, and it seems to be from the mushroom itself. It's a different message than when you are speaking to God or the divine creatures. The mushroom has said, "If you want to stay sane, you have to go out of your mind."  and "No expectations, feel grateful for this experience, no expectations." Also, "Play time is over, time for the learning to begin. Drink your skittles."
Also at the end it says a lot of thank yous and goodbyes.
I also tend to do this infrequently with much preparation, alone, in the dark, in large doses. It's the only way IMO.
