while watching the debates i noticed that they have basically been Newt and Romney slinging mud on each other, with santorum eagerly wanting to join in on the fun but just coming off weird with dead silence.... and nobody touches Ron Paul. outside of foreign policy, they all bow to him and give him loads of respect.
so far, the republican primary has gone over 4 states, and excluding new hampshire, have all been states that Ron Paul shouldnt have done well at all. paul didnt even campaign in little israel, aka florida, and south carolina just recently allowed sale of full sized liquor bottles and tattoo's if that tells you how "progressive" they are.
regardless of these polls, i think Paul can actually take second in nevada. he has a great shot at california, and texas too.
most likely it will be a busted convention because no one is going to get enough delegates without one thing happening: newt or santorum bows out and gives their delegates to either Paul or Romney.
but YA, I can see santorum eventually bowing out, but why newt? newt is running out of money. if it werent for adelson giving him ANOTHER 5 million he would be out of the race right now. who knows how it will really transpire, if newt or santorum's dislike of Romney is real, or one of them folds to become VP for Romney.
as it stands right now.... there is no way this wont be a broken convention without 2 candidates folding and giving their delegates to another. sure it is non-binding endorsement, but it pretty much happens that way. unless RP loses all ground and momentum right now and gets blasted on super tuesday, I dont see him dropping out. I see RP getting about 20-25% of delegates overall (that is just california and texas alone), which means that Paul at the very least will be able to force a broken convention, which will ultimately turn into a Brokered convention, meaning that some bilderberg-esque backroom deals are going to be made and Paul is going to get dicked over by santorum and newt.
and finally, that is when i will vote for Obama, because if that happens, then this nation no longer deserves a decent president, but rather an endless series of whored out presidents that will eventually run this country into the ground enough that being "middle-class" in america is no better than having a roof in Haiti.

I think Romney and paul will team up, it's definitely the smart thing to do

Not sure where you're getting that from.
Gingrich is the only current candidate to give a nod to Paul and his supporters. Tone deaf Romney has not done anything yet to show respect to up to 20% of the GOP. Lots of them will walk if they continue to be disrespected. Any of the other candidates would absolutely kill to have supporters that enthusiastic.
