30 bales of pot found floating off Marina del Rey

More than two dozen bales of marijuana were found floating in the waters off Marina del Rey, authorities said Thursday night.
The 30 bales were estimated to be worth $500,000 on the street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
A boater on Wednesday spotted the bales, which were recovered about 6 nautical miles northwest of the marina harbor entrance, authorities said.
The Sheriff's Department, with the aid of lifeguards, fished out the pot. It was turned over to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.

Cannabis is in such high demand and there is so much of it, that a few bales occasionally end up floating around in the water.
However, the DEA still believes that there is no need to make legitimate profit from it being taxed and regulated.
