Disclaimer: I will translate as better as i can, please forgive any mistakes for i think this is really REALLY important.
SSA patents the first vaccine against a drug: Vaccine vs Heroin
Mexican goverment secretary of Health "Secretaría de Salud" announced it has patented the first vaccine against Heroine, as a part of the plan to prevent and combat addictions in the country, with this they pretend to rehabilitate chronic patients by means of blocking the compulsive use of the substance.
"Mexico has achieved to patent the first vaccine against the use of Heroin and we are looking forward for more (drugs)" announced Salomon Chertorivski Secretary of Public Health in Mexico to United States Sussecretary of Politics, Wendy Sherman; Margarita Zavala, Felipe Calderon´s wife and president of the Citizens Council for the National System for the Integral development of the family (DIF), and Mexico City Mayor, Marcelo Ebrard.
The vaccine has showed its efficiency in humans and now, it is gonna be tested in human beigns.
Although it is now a expensive antidote, fundings are being given trough Plan Merida and other sources.
Researches are on very average stages, once it is beign commercialized and tested, they have planned to get approval of its use against other drugs like nicotine and cocaine.
Researchers affirm that: "Vaccine won´t be a solution to addiction troble, its just a way o approach the problem. Specially in the field of tratment. we expect frequency of consumption in the individual to lower when we apply the vaccine cause it has the hability to block the pleassure area of the brain. It is obvius that the user requires of the desire to quit and also to be supported along with psychotherapy" Said Elena Medina Mora, Director of the National Institute of Psychiatry in Mexico.
Number of chronic addicts increased 51% since 2002 when they where a total of 307 thousand, and in 2008 they where 465 thousand people wich now have a severe addcition problems.

This doesn't sound much different then the drugs people take to quit smoking like chantix or whatever it's called. I don't think using drugs to fix addiction is the right idea, and I don't think it will create lasting results most addicts will probably just stop taking the drug so they can get pleasurable results back from there drug of choice.
I don't claim to be an expert on addiction but I have plenty of personal experience and the only way to quit is to remove yourself entirely from people or places that will lead you back to your addiction(speaking about meth and heroin specifically). This sort of thing normally can not be achieved as an addict can't pick up and move long distances to escape pressures to use but the only serious addicts I've seen that have escaped there addiction was by either moving long distances or getting involved in a job that moves them away from home.
Drugs like what's described might work short term but all the person has to do is stop taking it and decide to start using no one can force them to take drugs that will stop them from using.

I need to get a vaccine for my raging jenkem addiction. I can't even get out of the bed in the morning without two jumbo fatty jenkem balloons to the face and an entire tube of model airplane glue. Through out the day I'll do bumps of white out or industrial strength crazy glue and a few more balloons of jenkem, aka that leeroy jenkems aka that butthash ya na mean?

so this means if you have the vaccine, it will never work on you again? how does it affect the action of others opiates? like if you got a bad injury, are you fucked because you got a vaccine?

Mechanism of action of the vaccine is not quite clear yet, in a local news paper it afirms it works exactly as a vaccine since it has been developed as any other vaccine known.
So yeah, once you get injected with that shit, you cant get effects anymore and most scariest thing of this is that it can be used for vistually any molecule: Heroin,THC, LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin, Serotonin, Piracetam... idk maybe it is just my mind playing...

Mexico allows clinical use of ibogaine... what more of a vaccine do you really need?
I'm thinking that they would use this to chemically lobotomize someone, so they can never get high or reach certain mind states. That's a lot like the movie equilibrium if you ask me.

Typically, these types of vaccines just don't work. They're expensive, require repeated injections, and have shown very poor results when actually used in humans.

yeah i think they've already done this with cocaine/crack for quite a while. it blocks your brains ability to react to these drugs. the scariest part about it is i'm absolutely positive the US is going to try to make these mandatory for children. and if not their parents might get it for them anyways. this better be a volunteer only type of situation. if it is then great... except those who get opiate vaccines better be very very careful and never have another surgery in their life.

Yes indeed those substances work for a litle amount of time they are just antagonists of the receptors the drug targets and their effect is easily reversed just by stoping taking them.
Scariest thing of this vaccines to come is that you may wont be able to reverse its effects since it is not a antagonist of the receptors, the fking vaccine makes your body to actually destroy the substance before it reaches your brain!
So once you get this vaccine administered theres a chance of that you may completely lose the hability to get high...FOREVER
And yes, it can be poured to the water thats really an easy task since most vaccines are water soluble.

Not all vaccines last "forever" this is why you need repeated booster shots to maintain immunity. And water solubility does not equal exposure. This is why nearly all vaccines are injected, rather than drank in water.
I would reserve paranoia until more details are known.

I read how they did this for Nicotine, but NicoVax never seemed to make it to market. Vaccines tend to be proteins, so ingestion doesn't work too well, what with our stomachs designed to digest proteins, although some do exist.

Ibogaine may be strong but, trust me, it wont work cause this vaccine has been elaborated at a inmunologycal level...
A vaccine for the vaccine, thats what we need now, otherwise imagine goverments inhibiting controlling our brains...

They would never force this on anyone. Drugs like heroin and crack are what allows them to stay in power, the know this.
If they were ever dumb enough to try they would quickly learn that deviance is even more potent without drugs.
