The fucker almost sold out before they released even a partial line up, I guess their reputation is that good.
I know its supposed to be the premiere event, but I am seriously skeptical about the crowd being cool at an event that will cost anyone coming from out of town a minimum of $1500; And that's just to attend the actual event (+ hotel, travel -n- food and or pills).
Miami is everything that's wrong with the scene right now. The premiere artists that play Miami go to clubs that have swapped the dance floors with extra rows of booths. If you're male and willing to dress a certain way you can get in and see ur favorite DJ, only if you're willing to spend $500+ dollars. Buying a bottle to get in somewhere is laughable if im going to a techno show- usually you end up making one drink out of the whole thing before you start rolling. Its fucking frustrating.
Ultra is one of the few events in Miami where you can see good acts and not have to dress in some bull shit, non-rave attire, but again, it will cost you.
By the time I add up everything I spend on this 3 day event, I could probably do Wanee + another fest like Bonaroo for the same $$$.
I probably will not do this again next year... Its also fucked up that Ultra doesn't coincide with WMC anymore. From what I can tell doing both the same week was like electronic heaven, but again enjoying the combo would cost you at least $2500 for the week of partying. Comparatively, You could probably do EDC, burning man, and wanee for the same amount.
Basically, I predict the festival ending by ripping everyone off and canceling half the line up (within ten years.)

So now that the Allgood lineup was released yesterday, does anybody think they'll be attending in 2012? I've been to the last 3, but now due to the location change, it's going to be quite a bit further from me and I will possibly be relocating for work this year, making it even further. I'm not as excited about the headliners this year as I was for previous years. I'm dissapointed they never had Buckethead back again since 2009. I was also hoping to see STS9 and Bassnectar again. Maybe they'll be added later on. I've always been interested in checking out Gathering of the Vibes, which happens to be the same weekend as Allgood this year, I believe, but they don't have a lineup posted yet (but they're selling tickets... what gives with that?). Bonaroo looks like it has a pretty sick lineup, though. I'm just not sure I'll be able to make the long trip. Plus, me and the wife will be on vacation the week before that, so it might not be feasible even if we can make the trip. I might just need to pick one and go, regardless, because I can't imagine summer without hitting up a music festival. There's always Moedown in September.

Im going to All Good. So far it looks like the best festival this year. GOTV doesn't usually release their lineup until march. Ive heard some bad things about Vibes though so i dont think ill be going. I might be doing Delfest on Memorial Day weekend. That lineup looks stellar!

What's going on in cali or relatively close to cali this year? I've never really been into the whole fest scene, but I would love to finally get out to one this summer.

What is your definition of 'jam band'? A band that improvises on stage? Do you find jazz boring? What do you find entertaining? Please provide sources

Since you were unable to address the question or come up with some kind of defense of your argument beyond throwing in the name justin bieber, i'm afraid that i'm going to have to award the point to CheesePlease.
Thanks for playing. Try again next time.

Starscape is bad ass, love the decommissioned fort. It reminded me of ancient ruins with the trees growing up through the concrete!

I checked out Delfest. Looks like it's mostly bluegrass music. I'd consider it, but it's the same week I'll be on vacation, so that's out. I'll be watching for Starscape to release a lineup, but a single day/night is quite short for a festival. I guess for now I'll just be watching who gets added to the allgood lineup and when the gotv lineup is announced.
