No way, it's already been a warm winter! I am saying February 18th February 16th 
*edit* I will further guess the first posted find comes from Michigan! Warm winter there especially.

feb 27 (edit the friggen 28 of feb, i spent too much time typing and lost my #) and only because it fits the mold,
ive got 92 days to go,
fuck 3 months of watching all ya all pick and iv got to wait, if i had the cash id drive south just to hunt morels.
i tried starting some sorts of morel competitions a few years back but my season is so late the threads were lost and not handled well.
please someone start a good morel comp this year, maintain and find contestants, it would be very interesting.

Feb 19th- I presume that they are more likely to be found on a weekend day than during the week as more people will be looking for them then.

Well, a couple people are already out of the race. The south has been in the 70's recently and soil temperature is around 53 - they just need some good rain and the warmer temps to stick around.

You guys can call this but here in indiana we had some days of right at 60 degrees. well the rumor started shortly after that there was a morel found. after a little searching, here is the photo that was posted.
supposed to have been on jan, 13th. I can say it was warm enough that everyone had brought out their motorcycles that week.
