So I have 2 straw bags that were marked as King Oyster, but something else fruited, I'm just not sure what it is. I am working with a G. tsugae culture now but I have not fruited it yet, maybe a mix up?. Maybe contamination of a higer fungi? Any ideas?

Maybe lions mane?
I don't know. It would have to grow out more. It does look like a fruit body.

That is really cool, but hard to ID at that point.
Its probably more interesting than whatever you were trying to grow. Give it a couple more days and bump this thread with some new pics.
It does look like a polypore. But not one of the ones that is commonly cultivated.

Looks a bit like a Laetiporus pin to me.

The fruit in the second picture got knocked off by accident. It is only about 1 inch long, looks soft & squishy, but in fact is extremely hard and wood-like. It rips apart similar to a reishi. The smell is odd, not pleasant. I'm pretty certain it is a polypore, but I doubt Laetiporous. I'll update as they mature, one bag has 20+ fruitbodies.

I'm still not sure what it is. Some look like conks, others are covered with pores on top? Any thoughts?

It is some kind of polypore. Does it stain black when you damage the pores?
Cool mushroom, let it grow a bit more and post some more pics.
A macro pic of the underside of the largest shelf would help in identification.

It's not a turkey tail, they are way to thick and some are round with pores all over. Never saw a turkey tail that wasn't thin. It does not stain black.
I will post more pics soon.

Compare them with the turkey tails lipa showed once: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13875888#13875888 Yours appear to be a little bit confused, maybe due to high CO2 or something.

I have seen some pretty thick clusters of turkey tail before, much bigger than that.

Wow, thanks for the replies. After looking at lipa's pics I have to agree, I think they are turkey tail. I collected alot of turkey tail this past season, I grind it in a coffee grinder before making tea, there's always a bunch of dust that comes out when I'm done. It must have invaded my king oyster LC, because up until these came out I was fruiting kings from it. I never had a culture or even attempted to grow this species before. I'm just blown away that I accidently grew turkey tails. I was really thrown off by the morphology of them.

Very cool, you should keep growing turkey tails. They are good in soup, and like bay leaves, you don't eat them directly.
