Currently there are two bills in front of the U.S. Congress and Senate, called SOPA and PIPA. They aim to curb online piracy, which is a noble goal. However, as written, the bills will give the government and corporations unprecedented power over the Internet. If these bills pass, it is likely that we will have to permanently disable file attachments and image uploads to comply with the law. Many sites across the internet have set aside January 18th to call attention to this important issue. We have disabled hosted images for today to show what the site might be like under SOPA and PIPA.
Want to do something about it? Most politicians don't know a lot about the Internet and their main source of information is paid industry lobbyists. They need to hear from everyday constituents like us so they realize that SOPA and PIPA are not the right solutions to online piracy. Please take some time to read about the bills, and then contact your representatives today!

Yep it uses geolocation based on your IP, it's the same way we show the flag icon by your location if you have that feature enabled. Don't worry, it can't pinpoint your address or anything like that, it's usually only accurate to around 50 miles. But yeah anyone can do that if they get your IP address so use a proxy if it bothers you.

Already called em a couple hours ago.
If you guys go online and search for your congressional reps and the word sopa, you can find out about campaign contributions from pro and anti Sopa groups to each of them. Interesting for perspective.

Uh, well this sucks ass, but luckily though the internet will die if they try it and thus this bill will probably be shortlived if it even passes.
In honor of this protest though I got a gif to edit into this post as soon as the blackouts done. It's from some strange country hoe-down porno, and is hilarious.

all that Obama is doing presently is working to appease anyone he thinks may
vote republican next year, one that will backfire is his objection to the

WOW!!!!!! This is insane. Who died and made the american government the sayer of all things? I've done what I can. The worst part about it all is that I feel powerless against the people who are trying to pass this. The very fact that something like this which in it's entirety is a total violation of personal freedom can and would even gain enough steam to make it this far scares the shit out of me. They will do what they want under whatever name they will call it. The corruption is sickening.

That's called a political system. You ever voted? If not, don't waste your time either way. Local government would be more applicable and noticeable though if you're gonna get involved in politics at all, you're still gonna need tons of money to make any real difference though. I've not been wrong about him yet and that includes him doubling the

I don't speculate about the future but it will come eventually and we will know without speculation. IMO increasing the national debt was necessary to bottom out the recession. He was elected to a house on fire, you can't blame him for spending money to put that fire out (he did not cause the fire). I think the reason that the DEA keeps raiding dispensaries is because they wouldn't have a job unless they harass people, I don't think that its right and I don't agree with it.
