Be careful because if you are near a feeder around these times then there is a decent chance you are being watched by a man in a tree with a rifle and the law on his side.. and he may be drunk.
It must be hunting season now and there are obviously deer a plenty in FL. Every time I come home now my next door neighbor has another deer strung up on some contraption off the back of his truck, in various stages of being butchered. Absolutely grotesque. Please be careful out there and heed what MP says!!

Those pictures were from two different locations within 5 miles of eachother. I got to my first location around 10 a.m. and hiked a few miles around and in between until I ended up back at my car around 3:30 p.m.
Usually I'd have hundreds of pictures and shrooms after that hike... but it's very dry and it hasn't rained in a week. The RH was the lowest in months for a couple nights too... so that didn't help.
and yeah, it's an old, dried corn dispenser designed to bring packs of feral pigs into the area. Boars are hunted on the reg at this location (as well as everywhere else where I live/hike); however, it's FWC and park personnel that are simply exterminating them... aka no pig jerky and fresh pulled pork sandwiches cause they just drag the carcasses into the woods and let nature do its thing
BTW who starts the 2013 thread? What are the rules and how does it work? Is it whoever finds the first actives of the year? Or any shrooms?

I might take a trip out there today. It has been rainy/foggy lately.

Hello Newgui i saw your post about you living 25 minutes from downtown Fort Myers and i have recently moved there. And last week i was on Sanibel and i found a yellow mushroom. and yellow is my favorite color so i'm keeping it in my room. But i was wondering if you could help me identify some magic mushrooms in Fort Myers. That would be awesome
