I don't think soaking for too long would be a problem,  (if soaked for like 72hrs without a problem!)  but if the outsides of the grains didn't get dried properly after boiling it could be.  I like to put a fan on them when there hot and steaming and keep moving em around.

Is that standing water in the jar, I can't really tell from the picture?

I cook for 10 minutes then go outside and dump my grain on a old sheet and toss it around. Dries in few minutes.

GTFO!

(Get The Foil Off!)

;0)

I am not seeing any deadly wetspots in those jars.

I cannot see that coir image too well, but it looks right
and that sub formula is a good one. (add gypsum)

Good luck,

JD

You will find it where fabrics are sold.  It is used
to fill pillows.  You can also cannibalize a pillow.  ;0)

Good luck,

Fans on your monotub will dry out your substrate...  Id recommend a good SGFC instead.  Or build a Martha setup to be fully automated...

Soaking too long exponentially increases the likely hood of a bacterial contam. This could result in zero growth if you are going from spores to grain. Cubensis can digest a lot of bacteria, but I've found that the wet bac contaminated grains can also turn to mush/paste when you shake them.

I just leave my jars to colonize without shaking them. They'll get there. You shake them when you go from grain to grain anyways. And I use the rubbery arm rest of an office chair to shake them up.

The synthetic pillows work fine as a polyfil substitute. I got a big ass pillow from the dump that I use.

I will have perlit on the bottom of monotub and setup of fanning and humidifinding will go like : 6 times a day for 2 min. of humidity and 5min of fanning .. I think that RH and FAE will be ok...

I am just wonder if temperature where tray stays is too high ( 26,27 celsium ) ?
