To you Psychology Masters, Challenge here.

Okay... Since you dedicated part your life to Psychology, why don't you take it to the next level. Go to a major city and walk the streets for a few hours, so you can really observe and experience how it works on that level. If you're scared... well, start out in smaller cities and build your way up to the bigger cities, but... Must warn you, the larger cities are alot more safe than the smaller ones, or am I lying? That's for you to find out.
Oh, and if you think I'd give you a challenge before walking it myself.. Let me tell you what I did.
I went to the closest city to me and walked the streets for days, went homeless... walked around my city throwing up a gang sign with the wrong colors on, seeing if they were on top of their game. Didn't happen, so I bought some Red clothing, and walked around yet again, and now I'm King of what I wanted, within a matter of days.
Now let's see how much you are really into Psychology.
Instructions... Make sure you follow your feelings, trust yourself. - Look everyone you cross in their eyes. - If you feel as if they are disrespecting you, stand there and stare at them. - If you see someone else doing the same, when they turn their back, turn yours. - - Do this until they get out of view. - You must be real with the other real people. - Cop goes by? Stare at them, then watch their back as I said above. - - If they're looking North, Look south and so on...
Now... If you're extremely into Psychology... Go homeless. No money at all is allowed.
- Never take more than you need, learn to trust life. - They will give you as much as you need, and you will learn this. - If you want to smoke a cig but have no money, pick one up off the street.

-------------------- "The man with the clear head is the man who frees himself from those fantastic ideas (the characterological lie about reality) and looks life in the face, realizes that everything in it is problematic, and feels lost. And this is the simple truth - that to live is to feel lost - he who accepts it has already begun to find himself, to be on firm ground. Instinctively, as do the shipwrecked, he will look round for something to which to cling, and that tragic, ruthless glance, absolutely sincere, because it is a question of his salvation, will cause him to bring order into the chaos of his life. These are the only genuine ideas; the ideas of the shipwrecked." - Ernest Becker

All the homeless I've spoken to, which relatively is quite a lot, have always been overjoyed with the hugs and companionship offered. The vast majority have also been very psychologically unstable, speaking in riddles at best. The saner ones speak of traumas, cuts, wounds, drugs and dying.
One school mate who I knew had lived a rough life growing up turned out traveling the rails. Talked with him after he was MIA for a few years. Said he always packed a knife but never once needed to use it. Said people are generally more afraid than aggressive. He did get arrested a few times though and will not be visiting those states again due to what the law would do to him if they caught him there. Not sure what happened next for the fella but I don't think he will continue that lifestyle if he can help it.

Sounds like "go into therapy" to me..
Most psychologists worth their true salt would have gone into the desert and touch on some deeply scary places in developing their shield to transference.
Im not fully qualified yet, but have experienced something similar to what you're saying.. and the results can be life enhancing.. or they just scare people away.. I thinks academic psychologists are stuck in some autistic scientific methods game because they were either piss poor at human relationships or challenges like yours scared the hell outta them.

I have... for days... I have yet to go to Africa then Mexico... Fear is weakness, and if dogs can smell it, so can humans. I held gang sign up for an hour walking around on the 2 main streets in and out of the city, I've gotten stared down once and that wasn't even in the city, I yelled with my thought and flexed up and the guy backed down and he was the one that ended up watching MY back. I just leased an apartment in the heart of this city so I can do this everyday, it is addicting and gives a high.
I've done this in a KKK town as well, wearing my colors. Nothing happened. I'm part African and have mainly African/Egyptian features, I even went to their spot when I was 19 screaming and spitting on their door, and standing in their parking lot, and not ONE came out. I am not scared of any Man or Woman. Doesn't Psychology teach that if you fear something you are holding yourself back?
I practice this everyday, everytime I'm out around people, it works if you have no fear.
I am proving that Death Anxiety does not apply to all individuals, and practices like this help prove it wrong.
I wouldn't present a challenge if I didn't go through it.

It's not about staring them down completely it's only when necessary, you MUST use your natural instinct to know when to stop looking and when to keep on, it's a test of the mind.
Oh.. and have you ever came across a Mexican cartel member and stared at them until you got shot? Uhhh? If not, how would you know if you'd get shot or not? Hrmm?

One could argue that you're doing this out of death anxiety.

The fear others have. There is no such thing as death, therefore no such thing as death anxiety, only fear of starting over.

Let's suppose, for the sake of the argument, that this statement is true and not full of crap. The fear others have must get to you in some way or another, otherwise you wouldn;t do stuff because of it.

Death as the end is mumble until proven contrary as well, by that logic.
Fear is a drug, and I am addicted.

So what would be different if you stared them down completely? Wouldn't that be an even better test of the mind?

@Rhizoid - I do, I follow my instinct, not all of these beings have the confidence to have a stare down with me, you must trust your instinct, not your fear if you have it.

I do not read, good try though... and it has not been proven, death as the end is nothing but a theory.

Enjoyed it, will invoke the most powerful being in existence for a stare down tonight when I dream. It'll be more real that way, more mind less matter.
