With the end (of the year) nigh, I thought it'd be fun to gather consensus of what 2011 releases the Shroomery community treasured most.
What are you're top 3 game releases of 2011, ordered from first to third-most favorite?
Mine:
1. Dark Souls
2. Skyrim
3. Mortal Kombat

idk battlefield 3
then idk far cry 3, oh wait hasn't come out yet 
wtf 2011 sucked pretty much. lots of good games from earlier years/decades
wait did dead space 2 come out 2011 or 2010? that shit was a game that wasn't too shabby, otherwise idk the game industry can

Seriously? Despite how infested this year has been with sequels, it has also seen a great deal of incredible titles, sequels or no.
Well, maybe everything was a sequel or successor in some way, but some of the best RPGs of the decade were released this year IMO.
Skyrim, Dark Souls, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Gears of War 3, Zelda, Mortal Kombat and a good deal more that don't come to mind at the moment. So it wasn't a good year for original titles.. but it most definitely was excellent for extremely polished sequels, multiplayer, graphics, and RPGs.
HOWEVER, 2011 was total shit for movies, worst year to come around in a long time for cinema.... but of course, that's just my opinion.

3. StarCraft 2....Though this is an 2010 release, it kept me entertained well into this year :]

Yes, yes, Starcraft 2 is probably one of my favorites games of all time. It kept me entertained this year as well, just as it will next year, haha. Best multiplayer ever made IMO.

No other game increases my heart rate every single time. They perfectly preserved the suspense of classic Starcraft while changing it up enough to be new. Definitely a great game.

Agreed. Though, I am pretty piss poor at RTS games, I still try my hardest not to loose too horribly. Star Craft has never been my strong suit, but it was the best Blizzard could do to keep me occupied until Diablo 3...Which needs to be out RIGHT NOW :]

the only video game released in 2011 that I have played has been Zelda: Skyward Sword. It's amazing, so I'll just say it is my favorite game of 2011
I still need to play Gears 3 though

Don't know if those are really the best of 2011 (well Skyrim is definitely THE best) but those are the ones I had the most fun with.
